When it comes to deciding which beauty products to spend your heard-earned cash on, recommendations are everything.

We all just want to hear an honest review from someone who's actually tried the product, yeah?

We think so, which is why our Beauty IQ Uncensored podcast hosts Joanna Fleming and Hannah Furst share their PWDKWN - products we didn't know we needed - every week.

*FYI, no one needs any beauty product, but it's OK to want and really bloody enjoy using them, too.

Speaking of the podcast - in case you missed it, our Beauty IQ Uncensored podcast is turning one! Gee, they grow up so fast. (You can get the latest episode of the podcast in your ears below.)

So, to celebrate our big milestone, we thought we'd share some of Hannah and Jo's best product recommendations here with you.

From a $13 eye shadow palette to a really expensive serum that has a distinctive scent but works wonders for rosacea, here are the eight products we didn't know we needed this month.

Osmosis Skincare Rescue Epidermal Repair Serum

Osmosis Rescue SerumOsmosis Rescue Serum

Why Jo loves it:

"I started using this serum about 12 weeks ago and have become obsessed with it. While I'm hesitant to tell everyone to go out and buy this product due to the $224 price point, I understand the struggles that come with finding suitable skincare for inflammatory conditions, and that sometimes, it's worth the splurge."

"The hero ingredient in this serum is Trioxolane (ozonized ethyl oleate), a stable oxygen molecule that works to neutralise toxins, calm inflammation and improve skin texture, among other things. I've seen much faster healing time since using this product and my skin looks healthy and vibrant. Plus, this serum layers very well with other skincare products."

KORA Organics Noni Glow Skinfood With Prebiotics Jar 180g

Why Hannah loves it:

"I've been having a lot of acai bowls in lockdown - I haven't been eating that well generally, but adding a scoop of the Noni Glow Skinfood to my healthy breakfast gives me a bit of a boost."

"It's got the brand's hero extract Noni in it, as well as acai, blueberry and matcha green tea. It also has a berry flavour... not like those green spirulina supplements that taste like dirt and grass."

Hot Tools Black Gold Volumiser

Hot Tools BrushHot Tools Brush

Why Jo loves it:

"I've got really fine, flat hair, but a lot of it. Whenever I have a blow wave in a salon, I love the look of it because I don't like to wear my hair dead straight, but I can't replicate it at home. This tool is a hot brush that blows heat out of it so you can dry and style your hair at the same time."

"It's a bit difficult to manoeuvre at the start because you don't know what you're doing, but now, I love this volumiser. I blow dry my hair about 80 per cent dry and then use the brush to give it a bit more body. It definitely does give fine hair volume and movement. It's my new favourite heat tool."

Dyson Corrale Nickel/Fuchsia

Dyson CorraleDyson Corrale

Why Hannah loves it:

"Honestly, I think the Dyson Corrale is an incredible straightener and I'm blown away by the technology. Because the flexible plates control the heat distribution of the hair so well, I only have to go through most sections once. That's unheard of for me. I have very frizzy, curly, coarse hair and usually have to go over each section four or five times."

"The price is a stickler for me. If you don't own a straightener and you want to invest in one you'll use three or four times a week, I think it's worth it. But it's definitely not affordable for most people. That said, if you're investing $500 every time you get your hair dyed blonde, you'd want to be using the best quality tools."

Designer Brands Eye See You Mineral Eye Shadow - Fired Up

DB Eye Shadow PaletteDB Eye Shadow Palette

Why Jo loves it:

"I haven't been wearing that much makeup in lockdown, but recently, I started doing my hair and makeup on the weekends because it puts me in a better mood when I've got nothing to do. This eye shadow palette is $12.99, which is a bloody bargain."

"The shadows last all day, and they're really long-wearing and versatile. I have been using the deep chocolate brown shade as a liner to do a winged eyeliner. The mustard and burgundy colours also look really cool, and I've used the glitter champagne shade as a liner, too."

Napoleon Perdis Cheek Switch Crème Blush Stick

Why Hannah loves it:

"Basically, I've decided to put makeup on during the day because I've been feeling sh*tty in lockdown. And this is the best blush I've ever used. I love the shade Pink Lady - it's a very vibrant pink, which is what we all need right now!"

"The cream blush formula transforms into a long-wearing matte velvet powder. I apply it straight to my cheek and then blend it out with a stippling brush. It completely changes the look of my face. And you only need a little bit, it's very pigmented."

The Beauty Chef Glow Inner Beauty Essential 150g

beauty chef GLOWbeauty chef GLOW

Why Jo loves it:

"I've been taking GLOW for years and am obsessed with it. It's honestly made such a difference to my digestive health. I've recommended this product before but I'm doing it again because the brand has recently reformulated."

"Now, it's got more Provitamin A, Biotin, Prebiotics and Probiotics. I drink mine in orange juice with pulp, that's my little trick for taking it because it has a specific taste and can be a bit gritty. I've got my dad onto it and he takes it every day, too. I can't speak highly enough of this product."

Juliette Has A Gun Not A Perfume Superdose EDP 100ml

Juliette Has A Gun Not A Perfume SuperdoseJuliette Has A Gun Not A Perfume Superdose

Why Hannah loves it:

"I was leaving the office quite late one night (pre-isolation) and Dani, who is our senior category manager, was walking down with me. I was sniffing her like a dog because I had to know the scent following her through the car park. She said she'd applied Juliette Has A Gun Not A Perfume Superdose that morning."

"This is the supercharged version of the original, best-selling Juliette Has A Gun fragrance. It contains the same Cetalox molecule, but more of it. The scent is woody and musky, and even though it's not a traditionally sexy perfume, it's the sexiest scent I've ever smelt. Now, this is my scent. It's the one."
