I’ve always been a manual toothbrush user, so needless to say, switching to a silicone sonic toothbrush felt quite strange. I didn’t know what to expect, or if my teeth would even feel clean afterwards, but I was willing to give Foreo’s ISSA Sonic Toothbrush a go (spoiler alert: I’ve been converted).
What Is It?
Has your dentist told you you’ve got gum recession? Well, you might want to think about investing in an ISSA. This gentle silicone toothbrush features revolutionary pulsating dental technology. The high-intensity pulsations clean the teeth with the help of soft silicone bristles; these bristles create enough friction to effectively remove stains and plaque while preventing enamel damage, gum recession and over-brushing.
What’s So Good About It?
Suitable for even the most sensitive teeth and gums, this ulta-hygenic toothbrush takes your tooth-brushing game to the next level, and there’s a lot of features to brag about.
– The quick-drying, non-porous silicone brush head resists bacteria build-up
– It carries up to 10,000 x less bacteria than toothbrushes with nylon bristles
– The flexible head adapts to any tooth surface & reaches hard-to-brush areas
– Each 1-hour charge lasts up to 365 uses (with no bulky charging dock)
– It guides your brushing routine every 30 seconds & tells you when 2 mins is up
– Channels up to 11,000 high-intensity pulsations per minute & has 8 speeds
– Allows you to thoroughly clean teeth, gums & tongue for optimal oral hygeine
– It’s completely waterproof, lightweight & travel friendly
Yes, it’s a very strange feeling going from a manual toothbrush to a silicone toothbrush. You don’t have that usual scratching sensation, which tricked me into thinking I’d brushed my teeth properly. I was concerned my teeth wouldn’t feel as clean after using the ISSA because it was so much gentler, but once I’d run my tongue over my teeth, they felt cleaner than ever.
The flexibility of the brush head really does allow you to reach every area of your mouth, I feel like I’m definitely brushing more thoroughly, and I think my teeth actually look whiter. The built-in timer also makes sure you don’t under-brush or over-brush.
Oh, and being a germophobe, the hygenic properties of this toothbrush have me sold. I know it’s a bit more expensive than your supermarket toothbrush, but considering you only need to replace your brush head once a year, plus it has a 2 year warranty and a 10 year quality guarantee, it’s actually good value.
What’s Everyone Else Saying?
★★★★★ Worth every penny – Laura
“This a a wonderful toothbrush, much easier on the gums than the bristled tooth brush. I use to hate brushing my teeth because of the pain from other tooth brushes. No pain here and my gums look great.”
★★★★★ Great for sensitive gums – Von
“If you have sensitive gums, then this is THE toothbrush for you. My gums got infected this year and it’s messed up now. Everything and every brush is too harsh. Extra soft toothbrush? Yeah, tried a bunch of them and none were soft enough. I actually thought about getting a baby toothbrush. Yeah… But this – the silicone on this is really soft and gentle. Makes me not understand why bristle brushes are the norm when they are so abrasive.”
★★★★★ Five stars – Gloria
“Love this toothbrush! I didn’t think I’d like an electric toothbrush but this one is fantastic! Highly recommend it!”
