Although the weather has been a little unpredictable, there is no denying that it’s starting to heat up. Over the years, I have been trying out different products, but there are a handful memorable ones that I love (and use the hell out of!!) during the warmer seasons. Let me run you through them!
1. essie Nail Polish, $17

Unfortunately, I just cannot sit in a nail salon anytime during the year, let alone during a hot summer’s day. The Essie Nail Polishes are simple but so effective, and in my opinion leave a salon finish for only a few dollars. The shade range is so fun and fresh which completes all my summery looks but also helps me look put together! A bonus is how inexpensive these polishes are.
My favourite shades are:
1. Ballet Slippers, which is a sheer pink and the perfect dupe of Chanel Beauty’s “Ballerina”.
2. Boredeaux, a stunning deep red. I love applying three coats for this shade for a rich finish.
2. Benefit Cosmetics Benetint Lip & Cheek Tin, $45

I have said this before, and I will say it again: there is no lip and cheek stain like the Benetint.
The Benetint is a summer staple for me because it is one product that will not budge, no matter how warm the weather may be. On days I want to look fresh without too much on my skin, I love applying the Benetint on my cheeks, tip of my nose and the middle of my lips for a rosy finish. It helps me look put together, without having to worry about touch-ups, or feeling any heavy product on my face.
3. L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil, $48.99 and L’Occitane Supple Skin Oil, $84

The L’Occitane Almond Supple Skin Oil and Shower Oils are simply divine. I cannot recommend these more!
No shower oil compares to L’Occitane’s Almond Shower Oil. It feels silky when you apply it onto your skin and turns into a delicious foam which coats your skin without stripping it. The best thing about this unique formula is that your skin still feels super clean after washing this oil off.
The Supple Skin Oil has 50% sweet almond oil and camelina oil which help nourish and firm your skin. A little goes a long way, and your skin will never look better! I love applying this right after I get out of the shower to seal in the goodness from the shower oil. It’s also a dry oil, so you do not need to worry about any sticky residue. All you need to think about is your silky skin.
If you’re concerned about fragrance, this combination has a subtle sweet almond scent but nothing too overpowering. Both these products leave the most unreal glow on your skin which lasts until your next shower. This is especially perfect for days I might accidentally forget to moisturise (It happens!!).
Tip: I love applying any product remaining on my hands to the ends of my hair.
4. Kérastase Gloss Absolu Glaze Drops Hair Oil, $80

If you know me or follow me on socials, you would know this oil is my LIFE.
In particular, I find that the Kerastase Glaze Drops Oil is incredible during the warmer, humid weather because it really tames frizz without leaving a greasy film on your hair. Just smooth and shiny locks!
The last thing I would want in my hair during summer is a heavy product and this is the opposite. It’s lightweight and provides up to 4 days of anti-frizz protection without weighing down your hair. A bonus is that it has hyaluronic acid and glycolic acid, so you are also nourishing your hair during times where the weather can be a bit harsh on your strands.
5. Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant, $112

I remember trying this out in 2016 and am so glad I rediscovered it in 2025 (I actually do not understand why I stopped using this product, but I digress).
The Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant is a gentle, non-abrasive exfoliating powder (simply activated with water). To be fair, I would say this is an essential all-year-round product for me but especially during the warmer seasons because it helps remove sweat and oils from the day, which helps minimise breakouts all without stripping my skin.
It also helps smooth and brighten my skin. Some key ingredients include:
- Salicylic Acid to assist with congestion.
- Rice enzymes and rice bran to polish the skin.
6. La Roche-Posay Anthelios Invisible Fluid Facial Sunscreen SPF 50+, $40.99

This cannot be an article about summer beauty essentials without a sunscreen mention, and of course my pick is the iconic La Roche-Posay Anthelios. There is nothing worse than feeling sweaty and sticky and then having to apply (and reapply) a heavy, greasy sunscreen as well. Luckily, the Anthelios is far from this description.
It’s lightweight and quick-absorbing, making application seamless and fuss-free. I have been using this one for many years because not only is it super comfortable, it does not leave a white cast on my skin.
Being South Asian with medium olive skin, I’ve gone through my fair share of white sheens because a sunscreen which claims to be “invisible” is exactly the opposite. When I discovered this one, I have not looked back. If you need more reasons to love this:
- It is 50+, which is recommended and ideal for the Aussie sun.
- My dermatologist recommends this.
- It is suitable for sensitive skin. I have acne-prone, sensitive skin and have never reacted to this formula.
- It is non-greasy.
There’s a reason why this has been recognised as a top-rated, broad-spectrum sunscreen globally for years. There is truly nothing like it!
