We've all been there. You take a look in the mirror after a big day to find your under-eye concealer is crinklier than a folded fitted sheet. Great.
While concealer is magic for reducing the appearance of very normal things like dark circles, eye bags, redness and pimples, finding one that looks as great at the end of the day as it did at the start is tricky.
That's why I was very excited to road test a brand new full coverage concealer before its exclusive launch at Adore Beauty: the MAKE UP FOR EVER Matte Velvet Skin Concealer
According to the product marketing claims, this concealer is 'everything-proof'. Water, sweat, humidity and even human tears are no match for it. But can it actually walk the talk?
Read on to find out everything you need to know about this brand new concealer, as well as what happened when I put it through its paces.
What is the new Make Up For Ever Matte Velvet Skin Concealer?
Ask Make Up For Ever Matte Velvet Skin Concealer's friends to describe her in three words and they'd say: loyal, resilient and hardworking.
This product is a full coverage concealer that can be used to conceal blemishes, pigmentation and even the darkest of dark circles.
If you've ever tried a full coverage concealer before, you'll know they have a tendency to crease and crack, which kind of ruins the whole 'I get eight hours of sleep every night' look you're going for. Thankfully, Make Up For Ever get it and have created their new concealer with an airy, breathable texture that results in a natural matte finish.
You can also use this friend to contour, colour correct and even out your skin tone if that's your jam, with 20 shades to choose from. The big ol' brush applicator with a precision tip makes it easy to glide product on and into any crevices.
That said, these are the new Matte Velvet Skin Concealer claims I'm most interested in:
24 hours of wear.
Waterproof.
Water-resistant.
Sweat-proof.
Humidity-proof.
Transfer-proof.
Tear-proof.
Considering I'm a sweaty person who also cries at the drop of a hat (it's true), I thought I would put some of these big claims to the test to find out if they're legit.
