There are a myriad of skincare ingredients out there, but somtimes it’s hard to know what they all do and how they work. Skincare terms can often be tough to tackle, the list can seem endless and confusing!
We’re shining the spotlight on one of our favourite brands ASAP. We’ve highlighted some of the key ingredients used in their skincare products and included a description and some products that contain these ingredients to make it easy to find the right products for you.
ASAP’s products draw on AHAs, BHAs vitamins A,B and C. The line encourages cell renewal and helps to protect from environmental damage.
Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs)
Derived from various plant sources, glycolic acid is the most active and beneficial of the alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs). AHAs gently loosen the glue-like substance that hold dead cells to the skin without removing the skin’s moisture barrier, revealing fresher, more radiant looking skin. With consistent use, AHAs work beneath the skin’s surface to lighten pigmentation caused by sun damage and stimulate collagen production. By increasing collagen production skin becomes firmer and fine lines and wrinkles less visible, resulting in a more youthful appearance.”
