Most Helpful Positive

I love the ordinary. This makes my skin more even, smooth, toned, and soft! An amazing product for the price and lasted a fair while considering the size of the bottle!

Most Helpful Criticism

hydrating but messy
Sea-Buckthorn fruit is a fantastic ingredient that I have used in other products. This oil however, is a disappointment for me. It is so so messy! It leaves your face with a orange colour that makes me look jaundiced. It also ferociously stains your clothes and pillow slips. I am going to finish my current bottle and I will not repurchase it.
The positives are that it is very hydrating. I think it would be very good for individuals with extremely dry skin.

  2. strong colour but nice product

I’m going to need you to give a stronger warning about the color. “YOUR FACE WILL LOOK LIKE A PUMPKIN” would be more appropriate. I briefly read the box, to which it only suggests to use the oil at night. Well I thought, sure whatever, but it’s morning and I want to try my new oil. So I haphazardly drop it in my hand and thought “huh, that’s a bright color, I’m sure the color will disappear after I rub it in.” NOPE! I looked like a dang pumpkin at 9am no matter how much I rubbed. I was going to wash it off but I’m not a quitter. So I start slathering on every other colorless oil I owned and slowly but surely the color lessened and I was able to leave the house with my dignity intact. Aside from the color mishap, the texture is nice, the oil absorbs quickly, and even though the odor is interesting, it’s not offensive. A nice oil I will use only at night now.
  3. Yes, it's coloured. Next.

The colour is really something, after spreading this Sea-Buckthorn Fruit oil across your face, it is quite an orange red. But after add moisturiser and going to bed, the colour has mostly disappeared. Simply washing your face removes all traces of the remaining colour.
It is a heavy oil and it has managed to heal the skin above my cupid's bow after some really rough days of tissue chaffing from a bad cold. The fact that it soothed my sensitive, inflamed skin makes it worth trying. Don't let it put you off from getting the skin care benefits you need.
  4. Great

I use this oil at night instead of a night cream. I love the way my skin feels and look in the morning with this oil. Have'nt notice much my scar fading yet. Only been using oil for 10days may be i need to use it longer. But my shin feels amazing.
  5. Sadly not for me

Unfortunately this was just a little too oily for me no matter what I did, It smells nice though and did provide intense hydration.
  6. Best oil in the world

I use nearly 50 skincare products on rotation and have used many facial oils in the market. But this product is hands down the holy grail of all skincare products (okay, ties with ginseng in my opinion).

It took me a while to get this because it looks super messy to use. I finally took the plunge and try this out because I've been getting retinol breakouts that never ever go away. This oil FINALLY cleared my very persistent retinol breakouts and cleared my skin. When sea buckthorn claims to be anti-inflammatory, it really is. I find that any breakouts I get clears up within 1-2 days with this oil. Also it gives the most beautiful baby skin glow.

For less messy usage, use one drop and mix with other oils or moisturisers. It's still very potent even with just a drop at a time. I'd also dab with tissue after to reduce stain. Because it has 6 months upon opening expiry and I can only use this one drop at a time, I'm now dropping it in everything, even for first cleanse with my cleansing oil.

Other than my ginseng skincare collection, this hands down will be my skincare staple forever and ever.
  7. No pain no gain

I’m in two minds about this product. I love that it soothes my skin and in the morning my skin is the softest its ever been. The only thing is the colour. It’s a bright orange and has stained all of my pillowcases. You also have to walk around the house looking like an Oompa Loompa. If you can live with these negatives then I’d highly recommend this oil.
  8. good hydrating oil

I like using this on my body, just a few drops mixed in with a moisturizer. I find it hydrating and the scent isn't too bad either
  9. great oil

i like this, it's a good body oil that makes my skin feels hydrated and nourished

  11. Love the glow!

I love this oil for its myriad benefits.

I have quite parched skin and this oil leaves it supple and glowing.

I find the best way to use it is to incorporate into a carrier oil or lotion at 2%.

For every 100g (not ml), I add 2g of SB oil and I find this helps reduce the staining significantly.

A great way to enjoy its benefits is to mix a serum out of deionised water, glycerine, TO Niacinamide 10%, SB oil, hyaluronic acid and liquorice extract. To the serum, add a compressed sheet mask and let it soak. This will help moisturise and brighten your complexion!

Should you use it at a higher strength, blotting after applying also helps reduce the staining.

    Enjoy!

  13. This stains everything including your skin.

I tried to dilute this product with water based moisturisers as recommended but still my skin was bright orange. It stains every thing you come in touch with and really doesnt do anything dramatic to help your skin. I have tried so many of The Ordinary products and loved them all BUT not this stuff.. Its hideous. I would actually love to send my bottle back for a refund.
  14. A nourishing, healing oil. But very messy and smelly

This oil is very healing. I use it as a mask when I have an irritation after using actives. However, this has a strong orange colour which will stain your pillow case or towel (I could wash most of the colour off but it still leaves a light stain there.) So I prefer using it as a day mask. Also, it has a strong smell but it only bothers me a little bit.
  15. love this product, do not like the smell or the colour

I have aging oily skin and love using acids and retinols, this oil is great after any of these treatments it stops the treatment having a drying effect on my skin but still ensure I get the benefits of these anti-aging treatments. I also dilute with a vitamin f serum for use during the day. After two weeks I noticed a big difference
  16. Like it

I have some anti-ageing concerns and I use this oil at night time to help with that. It's pretty thick but feels nice on the skin
  17. good

very orange coloured oil, wasn't expecting that. it is nice and makes my face look and feel shinier and more nourished.
  18. For night time

Use this part of night time routine and wash it off in the morning. My skin does feel a bit better. Use a little bit.
  19. OK

This oil is not for everyone! Firstly, it leaves you looking orange like an Oompa Loompa (or Donald Trump). Second, yes, it smells. I actually don't mind the natural smell of The Ordinary's products, as I hate, hate, hate artificial fragrances and stinky essential oils added to skincare. If something naturally smells like feet or horse manure? So be it. I've introduced this very slowly to my routine - on my neck, not on my face - and haven't had any whopping breakouts, but I'm treading carefully...
  20. my skin hated it.

Let me start by saying that I adore TheOrdinary. It's almost impossible not to like their philosophy and their products.

But with Rosehip oil? I have to admit that most reviews are extremely favorable and it was like this product is a total game changer. It was also suggested to me by Deciem as the last step of my routine. Well, my skin hated it.

I have no particular problems, my skin is healthy with no major issues and I look much younger than my age.
I found this oil too heavy, unbearable to smell, it somehow fuelled my oily prone skin to big time oily and I think I had a minor reaction to it (redness on my cheeks). I guess it was to much for me.
