It’s been 12 months since my Airwrap arrived and I have never looked back.
I have no regrets about making the $799 investment, but if you're still not convinced, here’s just three of the reasons I still reach for my Dyson Airwrap over every other hair tool (and trust me, I’ve got them all).
1. You Save Money in the Long Run.
Well, I am. Some people spend money on acrylics or lash extensions, but circa 2019 before remote working was my reality, I chose to treat myself to a weekly blowout.
Now, I’m as rational as anyone - I knew this luxury wasn’t cheap, but I had no idea that each $50 bouncy blow wave would add up to a yearly total of $2,600. That’s 520 coffees WORTH OF BLOWOUTS. Not to mention the actual coffees I consume a year...
I knew something needed to change, but I wasn’t ready to trade the locks I’d grown accustomed to.
By my calculations, I wash and dry my hair around 104 times a year (roughly twice a week). At $799 for the Airwrap, that works out to be approx. $7.68 per use. Over two years? $3.84.
To think I was forking out $2,600 a year for hair I can achieve from the comfort of my own home (exhibit A below). Now, I can put my pennies towards skin care and coffees.

2. You Legitimately Don't Need Any Other Hair Tools.
Hair straightener aside, you really don't need any other hair tools (including a hair dryer) because the Dyson Airwrap comes with six attachments:
Pre-styling dryer: A smaller (but just as powerful) version of Dyson’s supersonic dryer.
Soft smoothing brush: Designed with fine hair in mind, this attachment provides a smooth finish.
Firm smoothing brush: Designed with thick hair in mind, this attachment provides a straight finish.
40mm barrel: Perfect for loose curls or beach waves.
30mm barrel: If you want voluminous curls, this attachment will become your new BFF.
Round volumising brush: Reach for this attachment if you’re after a big, bouncy blowout that looks like you’ve walked out of the salon.

For me, the pre-styling dryer, soft smoothing brush and 40mm barrels are on high rotation every week.
If there’s one attachment that’s still a mystery to me, it’s the firm smoothing brush. I use the soft smoothing brush for straight strands, plus volume.

If you're not sure which attachments to use, the best advice I can offer is to experiment and don’t be afraid to use multiple attachments to achieve your desired look.
Personally, I love using the soft smoothing brush to add extra volume to my roots before switching to the 40mm barrel for that extra oomph.
However, I pull out the round volumising brush and 30mm barrel for special occasions to achieve the glam look I created below.

3. Yes, Using the Airwrap Saves Time.
The fact the Airwrap styles hair wet to dry is a game-changer for me.
Pre-Airwrap, if I wanted to wash my hair, I’d have to set aside at least two hours to achieve frizz-free locks. And if I wanted something more elaborate, like curls, I’d be looking at anywhere north of three hours.
The Airwrap has cut that time by a third because it dries and styles at the same time. Bouncy blowout? 30 minutes. Beach waves? 45 minutes. Big Hollywood curls? An hour, tops.
And bear in mind, this is how long it takes to style my very long hair. Those with shoulder length hair or shorter will be able to style even faster.
