Part of my job as a member of the Adore Customer Experience team (and when I used to work as a hairdresser) is to help recommend the very best hair care products for your specific hair type and needs.

We all want great quality hair care, but those price tags? Yeah, sometimes they're a killer.

For my friends on a budget, there's good news: You can find affordable professional haircare products that deliver results. And by 'professional' hair care, I'm talking about the next step up from supermarket hair care - it's basically like dipping your toe into the salon-quality haircare world.

So, keep scrolling for five of my all-time favourite affordable hair treatments, shampoos and styling products.

Disclaimer: Affordability is so subjective, but these picks are priced under $35.

1. ELEVEN Miracle Hair Treatment, $24.95.

Fast facts:

  • An all-in-one leave-in hair treatment that's been saving hair since 2011.

  • Great for all hair types and textures.

  • Aussie-made, cruelty-free and free of sulphates, parabens, phthalates, and animal by-products.

  • Colour-safe formula controls frizz, adds strength, shine and softness, protects against heat styling damage, repairs damage and detangles.

Why it's the bom.com:

ELEVEN Miracle Hair Treatment is my FAAAVE heat protectant and leave-in treatment. It has so many benefits, yet is so cost effective. It's a cult classic. A stand out. My ride or die. Massaging a pea-sized amount through damp mid-lengths and ends will help with frizz and hydration, as well as be your pre-styling heat protectant.

2. ELEVEN 3 Minute Repair Rinse Out Treatment, $27.95.

Fast facts:

  • A rich rinse-out hair treatment that delivers results in three minutes.

  • Hydrolysed wheat protein helps prevent breakage by deeply nourishing each strand, while shea butter softens frizzy hair for a smooth, manageable finish.

  • Works on all hair types, especially dry, damaged or colour-treated hair.

  • Is also Aussie-made, cruelty-free and free of sulphates, parabens, phthalates, and animal by-products.

Why it's the bom.com:

ELEVEN 3 Minute Repair Rinse Out Treatment is another great, cost-effective treatment. But more importantly, it's incredible for anyone who doesn't have 15-20 minutes to wait around for an intensive treatment to do its thing. It's quick and it works - massage into hair after using shampoo and conditioner (or this can replace your conditioner) and rinse out after three minutes. Pro tip: If you have super fine hair, start with less product (around the size of a five cent piece) to avoid weighing down your hair.

3. NAK Hair Platinum Blonde Anti-Yellow Shampoo, $31.95.

Fast facts:

  • A potent anti-brass shampoo for natural blonde hair, lightened blondes, platinum blondes, and silver, white or grey hair.

  • Creates a silvery platinum tone using blue-violet pigments.

  • Strengthens and hydrates hair at the same time with hydrolysed rice protein and coconut oil.

  • Aussie made, cruelty-free, sulphate and paraben free.

Why it's the bom.com:

I've written about this blonde shampoo before, but NAK Hair Platinum Blonde Anti-Yellow Shampoo 375ml is one of my all-time favourites because it doesn't dry out my hair. It has a strong purple pigment that doesn't stain (you can wear gloves to be safe), and the fact it's only $32 is a steal. I'm obsessed with it. I tell every blonde I meet, you need this blonde shampoo.

4. L'Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Inforcer Anti-Breakage Masque, $34.

Fast facts:

  • A deeply nourishing treatment that conditions and strengthens to target breakage, split ends and hair fall.

  • Contains biotin and vitamin B6, and is designed to leave your hair hydrated, soft and healthy-looking.

  • Ideal for very fragile or damaged hair.

Why it's the bom.com:

The SCENT of L'Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Inforcer Anti-Breakage Masque 250ml is to DIEEEE for. It's like sweet watermelon sugar addictive goodness, but not too overpowering. It's what I expect Ariana Grande would smell like. Oh, and it's just a bloody great restorative mask if you have long hair prone to breakage.

5. L'Oreal Professionnel Tecni.ART Volume Lift, $26.95.

Fast facts:

  • A hands-free volume-boosting mousse that delivers serious lift, even for very limp, flat hair.

  • Directional diffuser for precise application means no more crunchy mousse ends.

  • Suitable for use on all hair types, but especially fine, limp hair.

Why it's the bom.com:

L'Oreal Professionnel Tecni.ART Volume Lift 250ml is the most AMAZING volume lift for the roots. It's lightweight enough that fine-haired gals like myself can apply to dry or damp hair pre-styling for oomph that won't weigh your hair down. The targeted nozzle means you can section your hair and spray a direct line of mousse onto the roots - no more putting mousse in your hands and scrunching it in all over your ends.

And those are my top five affordable professional hair product picks! It was kind of like choosing my favourite children because there are SO MANY great budget hair care options out there.
