Alpha-H is an Australian cosmeceutical skincare brand founded by Michelle Doherty, who developed the brand's signature glycolic acid formula while looking for a way to manage her own acne. That formula became Liquid Gold, and it remains the brand's best-known release today. The range has since grown to include cleansers, serums, moisturisers, sun protection and body care, built around active ingredients like glycolic acid, vitamin C and niacinamide, and aimed at visible signs of ageing, uneven tone, and dull or dehydrated skin.

Alpha-H Liquid Gold and Serums & Treatments

Liquid Gold uses glycolic acid to gently exfoliate away dead skin cells and refine tone and texture overnight. Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that works by loosening the bonds between dead skin cells on the surface of the skin, helping reveal smoother, more even-looking skin underneath with regular use. Liquid Gold is applied as a leave-on treatment after cleansing, followed by moisturiser, and sits within the brand's dedicated Liquid Gold range, which includes a body version and a lower-strength option for first-time AHA users. Beyond Liquid Gold, Alpha-H's Serums & Treatments range includes vitamin C, vitamin B (niacinamide) and hyaluronic acid formulas for hydration, brightening and antioxidant support, alongside a dedicated Moisturisers range for daily hydration and barrier support.

For acne-prone and congested skin, the Clear Skin range uses salicylic acid to help target blemishes, blackheads and excess oil without over-drying the skin. Alpha-H's Sun Protection range offers SPF50+ daily formulas designed to sit comfortably under makeup, an important step to protect the skin barrier while using exfoliating actives like glycolic acid elsewhere in a routine.
