‘No-Makeup’ Makeup Tips:

  • Apply your makeup with a fluffy brush and stipple on the product to avoid linear lines and creases forming.

  • Highlight under your cheek bone for a natural contour.

What do I apply to my skin before makeup?

When you’re creating a ‘no-makeup’ makeup it’s important that your makeup can just glide on. As Ross Andrewartha says, the key to beautiful makeup is beautiful skin.

Before you start this makeup look we recommend you prep your skin with some nourishing skincare, to get your skin in tip top shape for makeup application.

Step 1: Start with a serum

Step 1: Start with a serum

Give your skin instant luminosity, hydration and radiance with the Lancôme Advanced Génifique Serum 50ml. Really work it into the skin by massaging it into your face for three minutes.

Step 2: Move to a moisturiser

Step 2: Move to a moisturiser

Make the skin super soft with the Lancôme Hydra Zen Neurocalm Moisturising Cream SPF15. This will make your skin nice and smooth for makeup application.

Step 3: Create the perfect platform

Step 3: Create the perfect platform

Add instant hydration to the skin with Yves Saint Laurent Top Secrets Instant Moisture Glow. This primer acts like an instant instagram filter and blurs out imperfections for seamless application.

Step 4: Glow from within

Step 4: Glow from within

Add an inner glow by applying a liquid highlighter under your foundation. Apply the on all the high points of your face, lightly patting it in with your fingers.

Step 5: Light application for a flawless base

Step 5: Light application for a flawless base

Lightly stipple the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation on with a fluffy brush.

Step 6: The concealer that’s like a secret weapon

Step 6: The concealer that’s like a secret weapon

Using the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat - Radiant Touch concealer, brighten any area that needs an extra lift, such as the nose, brow bone, under eye and cupid's bow. Then blend it in with a small fluffy brush. This is a great way to add dimension to the skin.

Step 7: Add some warmth and dimension

Step 7: Add some warmth and dimension

Lightly bronze the skin with the Yves Saint Laurent Sahariennes Bronzing Stones. When you’re working on the cheekbones just add a tiny bit of pigment to the brush and lightly drag it across so it is easy to diffuse and blend. Create a ‘three’ shape across your forehead, cheekbone and jawline.

Step 8: Make it pop with a multitasker

Step 8: Make it pop with a multitasker

For blush, why not multitask it with one of your favourite lipsticks? The can be stippled onto the cheeks with a fluffy brush for a pop of luminous colour. Then, take the bullet and apply it to your lips.

Step 9: Boost your radiance

Step 9: Boost your radiance

Bring this ‘no-makeup’ makeup look to life with a liquid highlighter, which you can apply with a small fluffy brush. Take any excess on to the decolletage.

Step 10: A blow wave for your lashes

Step 10: A blow wave for your lashes

Boost your lashes volume with the Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Classico Mascara. Apply in upwards strokes.

Step 11: Set in your brows

Step 11: Set in your brows

Set in your brows with a clear brow gel, brushing them upwards, to keep them in place. This will keep them brushed up and feathery all day long.
