As an avid 4-5 step skincare user, I’ve known and deeply appreciated the
benefits of a thorough routine.
The results are evident, and thankfully, science has birthed a plethora of products to minimise excess oil production, soothe irritated skin, replenish moisture loss and tackle pigmentation.
Our face thanks us after every
hyaluronic acid serum droplet, nurtures our epidermis, and smiles when we treat it to an intensive treatment.
But we know skincare for the face and neck, so how about the
rest of our body? And I’m not talking a deliciously edible cream coating each limb. I’m talking about retinol, peptides and multivitamin serums, but for the chest, knees, arms…the lot.
The skin on our body has needs too. Whether it’s scaly skin, bumps, congestion,
texture or perhaps it just needs a decent energy glow boost, a body care routine can have a strong impact on our skin’s health. It can be daunting to tackle, but I’ve done the hard work for you so you can dive straight into luminous body territory.
Products for Bumpy Textured Skin

My hot tip for you is to know that we are replicating what we do to the face; therefore, products go in order of thinnest to thickest.
Beginning with the Alpha H Daily Dose Multivitamin Body Serum, I’ll effortlessly massage a good dollop of this stuff all over arms, legs, torso and booty post-shower.
This could act alone as a moisturiser, but we are treating ourselves to a full 3-stepper here, so this will be your lightweight, concentrated guardian angel designed to brighten, illuminate and reduce transepidermal water loss.
This isn’t just a hydrator though, it’s formulated with the dream (glow) team: niacinamide, vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, plus a polypeptide called polyglutamic acid, which helps maintain moisture and hydration to minimise fine lines.

The peptide obsession continues, and it’s in the form of an oil.
I will pour a good drizzle of the Alpha-H Firming Peptide Body Oil with Hexapeptide-8 all over my skin, from neck to toe.
This oil luxuriously manoeuvres and works into the skin without labour due to its lightweight dry oil texture.
Its omega-rich macadamia and microalgae oils support collagen and elasticity, and I particularly reach for this firming and smoothing hexapeptide-8-powered oil for its subtle warm vanilla scent and non-greasy finish.
Now it is perfectly okay to press ‘stop’ at the serum. Adulthood often inserts the concept of time into the “not found” category. But if you’re still here at the oil, then you’re going to love rounding this routine up with the final product.

Things you should know prior to using this next one: SPF should be used post-treatment, there is no need to rinse, and you only need to use this up to three times a week at night.
The Alpha-H Retinol Reboot Exfoliating Body Treatment combines 8% glycolic acid, 2% lactic acid, 1% encapsulated retinol, and Coenzyme Q10 to exfoliate and refine.
Think of this as a targeted treatment that does all the hard work for you but without the irritation part. I found this to be powerful ingredient-wise, yet gentle on the skin. This is particularly brilliant because once massaged into the skin, you get to sleep and wake up with the most buttery skin as if you’ve just been to the day spa. No additional work required.
Being an exfoliating retinol body treatment, you can expect a lush, luminous finish that targets pigmentation, evens skin tone and aims to achieve the goal of a smooth canvas.
Combine that with additional hydration and oil replenishment prep, this quickly becomes a full-body experience instead of ‘just’ a routine.
Finally...
This may be a 3-step body care ritual, but I have found that rough texture thirsts for more than a body oil or moisturiser.
So, when I notice dryness, flakiness or uneven skin tone I immediately opt for high-impact products - the ones that are equipped to deliver noticeable results and care for specific concerns.
Think of it as my skin craving some extra attention, so giving it the exfoliating, skin-renewing and glow-inducing ingredients is like a helping hand.
Months have passed and this trio has quickly become a staple. I am not always consistent with it; in fact, transparently, this takes some commitment and remembering.
Not because it’s difficult but because life happens and sometimes we forget how our body deserves a 3-step routine in addition to our face. BUT oh how important it is.
Even after one night’s use I notice a major difference in my skin's health, which always encourages me to keep at it and continue to take care of our largest organ.
So let this be the sign you need to invest in skincare below the neck. Crepey elbows, ashy kneecaps, dull, scaly skin, be gone.
