The Jojoba Company Review: Including *That* Cult $34 Oil

There are a few holy grail products that have been loved by beauty editors for years. 

One of those is The Jojoba Company’s jojoba oil.

Though not an actual oil (more on that later), this ‘liquid gold’ as named by some, has been keeping the faces and bodies of Skinfluencers, beauty lovers, dry-skin havers and even babies nourished for years.

Because of jojoba oil’s rising popularity, the folks at The Jojoba Company upped the ante by adding a host of other jojoba-infused products to their range.

There’s the award-winning Youth Potion, a hydrating cleansing oil and their best-selling Ultimate Serum just to name a few.

I, for one, am very excited about this news, because it means I can stock up on jojoba oil at the click of an ‘add to cart’ button any time I please.

Being an original jojoba oil lover and an eternal glow-chaser, I was keen to try some of the other jojoba offerings in the extended range too.

What Is the Jojoba Company Jojoba Oil and Jojoba Oil Benefits.

Here’s the kicker - Jojoba oil isn’t actually an oil. 

It’s a liquid wax ester that is the closest botanical match to our skin’s natural oil. 

Its molecular structure is similar to the wax esters in youthful skin, that’s why it’s really good at giving you a healthy, well-ageing complexion!

While a great antidote for dry skin, jojoba oil can be used on all skin types.

I’ve been using Australian Jojoba on my combo skin for years because of its ability to also regulate sebum (I’m sure you've heard that old myth that you don’t need to use a facial oil if you have oily skin).

It all starts with the harvesting of the Australian Wadi-Wadi Jojoba (jojoba plant) which is sustainably grown in nutrient-rich soil (so you know you’re getting good quality) on a family-owned farm.

It’s then extracted from the beans, cold-pressed and filtered fourteen times to create the superior concentrated extract.

Looking for the best jojoba oil for face?

This one has become a mainstay in my routine because it nourishes, soothes and calms the skin.

I’ve tried lots of other beautiful oils and they definitely have their place, but for a multi-tasking oil that I know I’m going to use almost daily, this is my go to.

Where some oils can sit quite heavy and greasy on the skin, this absorbs and sinks in beautifully, leaving behind a lovely glow in its trail.

In the cooler months I lean on my jojoba oil for extra hydration by either mixing it into my moisturiser, or layering it on top as the last step of my PM routine.

I also love layering jojoba oil under makeup on days I want my base to look super dewy!

I usually keep a 30ml jojoba oil handy in the bathroom so I can throw it in my bag on those extra chilly days where my dry bits need some TLC.

Why I love it and my Youth Potion review:

Youth Potion feels just as lovely to apply on the skin as the original jojoba, only slightly silkier.

And I totally get why it's a best-seller (it also happens to have a heap of five-star reviews).

I love that my skin is not only reaping the benefits of the pure jojoba oil but it's also absorbing the added benefits of the powerful ingredients you would find in a serum.

Youth Potion works best in synergy with the The Jojoba Company Ultimate Serum but I think it’s a good-enough-on-its-own product too.

This was a standout for me because in the most simple terms, I just feel like it’s made my skin ‘better’.

How to use the The Jojoba Activating Cleansing Oil.

Can be used as the first step in a double cleansing routine or on its own. You can apply on dry skin as it activates upon contact with water, turning into a milky emulsion that easily rinses off without stripping the skin.

Why I loved it and my Jojoba Activating Cleansing Oil review:

I know you probably expected me to list the The Jojoba Company Ultimate Serum as my third pick but as a best-seller, it’s just a given. We know it’s good and that people love it.

So I wanted to give some attention to this hydrating cleansing oil.

I’m partial to a cleansing oil but as someone with an oily t-zone it was the ‘melts excess sebum’ in the product description for me.

It also didn’t sting my eyes which is always a big green tick when it comes to cleansers.

If you have dry skin, you will love how nourishing it feels on application.

It feels oilier than a normal cleansing oil, so I was sceptical about it melting off all my makeup, but I was pleasantly surprised.

If you don’t wear heavy makeup (like me) this is enough for a single cleanse.

No second cleanse was needed for me, just a couple of cotton rounds and micellar water to get that last bit of residue off (mostly my mascara).

4. The Jojoba Company Vitamin C Glow Potion.

How to use the The Jojoba Company Vitamin C Glow Potion.

You can apply the jojoba glow potion on cleansed skin after your serums and right before your moisturiser.

Why I love it and my Jojoba Company Vitamin C Glow Potion review:

Like their original jojoba formula couldn’t have gotten any better, The Jojoba Company have developed the The Jojoba Company Vitamin C Glow Potion which combines the powers of their jojoba oil base with Vitamin C (THD Ascorbate).

A stable and oil soluble form of vitamin C that helps with accelerated signs of ageing (as vitamin C does so well).

It also works to brighten/even skin tone as well as soften the face making dull skin a thing of the past.

Not to mention the other anti-inflammatory and antioxidant ingredients in the formula making it the perfect addition to any glowy skincare or age-management routine.

I tried it for the first time in the morning and it left my skin with a gorgeous, glowy film and truly lifted my tired-looking skin instantly making my complexion appear healthier.

Next time, I think I'll layer this under my makeup especially in winter when my base can look drab and is always in need of a glowy boost.

Final Thoughts...

I think a bottle of jojoba oil should have a permanent place on everyone’s skincare shelf alongside other multi-taskers like La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5+ Balm or Weleda Skin Food.
