I Tried Redken's New Acidic Grow Full Range on My Fine Hair. Here Are My First Thoughts

I have fine hair but a lot of it, so I’m very picky when it comes to the products that work for me. Volumising products often fall short, either leaving your hair crunchy or doing nothing at all.
Needless to say, when I saw Redken’s new Acidic Grow Full System range had launched, I was curious to try it…

What Is the Redken Acidic Grow Full Range?
The Redken Acidic Grow Full range uses a “Densifying Complex” powered by star ingredients like azelaic acid to rebalance the scalp, as well as caffeine and prebiotics.
This powerful formula is designed to plump up individual strands and promises “over 5,000 extra hair fibres worth of fullness and less breakage”.
Who is the Redken Acidic Grow Full range best for? It’s most ideal for:
- Thin, flat hair
- Hair prone to hair fall and breakage from brushing
- Suitable for all Colour-treated hair
My Redken Acidic Grow Full System Review
Full disclosure, I have only used this exciting new range for two washes so I can’t speak to long term reduction in breakage or long term density, but I can speak to the texture, and what my hair looked and felt like after wash.

My review:
Not too thick and lathered really well, an additional bonus is the citrusy smell.
It didn’t feel stripping but at the same time my hair felt clean, which I’m guessing is the pH-balancing doing its work. Thin, watery, nothing fancy in the bottle — for fine hair, usually a good omen. It lathered with barely anything, and the citrus scent hit properly in the shower without turning into a headache.

My review:
I kept the conditioner off my roots, applied from mid-length down as per the instructions.
The consistency of this one felt more like a lotion, and combed through mid-lengths and ends easily.
It left my hair feeling smooth, rather than heavy which is a good sign.

My review:
I used the fine spray mist on damp hair, applied it close to the scalp and massaged it in with my fingers. There was no stickiness and it was really fast-absorbing (within a minute or so).
Once dry, my roots looked a touch more lifted, and my scalp didn’t feel dirty or greasy, which these kinds of products can sometimes do.

- Instantly creates fuller, denser-looking hair
- Provides heat protection up to 230°C
- Supports a healthy scalp environment
My review:
I would say this would be my favourite product from the range mostly because I could really see something happening/noticable results.
I sprayed onto damp mid-lengths and ends and then combed through before blow-drying. The texture is light and doesn't turn sticky once dry.
Using the products all together:
Doing the full routine — shampoo, conditioner, serum on damp roots, spray through the lengths before drying seemed to make a difference on my hair. Once styled, my hair looked fuller through the crown and mid-lengths, and held its shape better than a normal wash day. My hair also didn’t feel weighed down or greasy.
Final Verdict…
So, was it worth it?
I can only speak to two washes but I can say that the range left my hair feeling light with added volume.
The real test is of course what happens over weeks, not days, especially with such big claims like reduced breakage, which need consistent use to show.
