I Tried Kérastase's Cult-Favourite Nutritive Range For Dry & Damaged Hair

If you’ve ever looked into high-quality hair care, then you would have heard of Kérastase.

When I first made the switch to salon-quality hair products, I was absolutely sceptical of whether or not they were ACTUALLY worth the money.

Now I’m sorry to break it to you (and your bank account), but once you find the right Kérastase system for your individual hair needs, there is no going back!

The thing that I love about Kérastase is that they have multiple ranges that speak to specific hair concerns so you no longer have to rely on a one-size-fits-all approach.

With that said, they recently dropped three new products, adding to their already amazing Nutritive range.

So, naturally, I decided I had to road-test them and see if they live up to the hype.

What Is the Kérastase Nutritive Range?

The Kérastase Nutritive range was made with dry-haired folk in mind!

Packed with skincare-inspired ingredients (like niacinamide), the Nutritive range aims to restore dry, depleted hair to its original vitality whilst offering intense hydration and irresistibly soft and silky hair.

The Nutritive range has always been a crowd favourite but they have now added the brand new Nutri-Supplement Scalp Serum, Nutri-Supplement Split Ends Serum and Nutritive Lotion Thermique Sublimatrice to the mix.

Having colour-treated hair along with dry split ends, I knew that the Nutritive range would have its work cut out for it.

Now, let’s get to know the squad a little better.

1. Kérastase Nutritive Nutri-Supplement Scalp Serum.

What: Kérastase Nutritive Nutri-supplement Scalp Serum 90ml

This is a powerful scalp serum that works to provide immediate hydration to the scalp whilst protecting its hydration levels and providing nutrition at a follicle level.

Inspired by skincare, this serum combines plant-based proteins to nourish the hair with essential nutrients and uses ingredients like niacinamide (vitamin B3) to help strengthen hair fibres and lock in nutrients.

You can apply 4 x ampoules of this serum to a dry or damp scalp and allow the moisturising formula to be massaged in.

Whilst my ends are usually the main point of dehydration when it comes to my hair, I can imagine the relief this serum would provide to someone that experiences a dry and/or irritated scalp.

The packaging is immaculate as always and the scent is warm, clean and comforting.

2. Kérastase Nutritive Nutri-Supplement Split Ends Serum.

What: Kérastase Nutritive Nutri-supplement Split Ends Serum 50ml

A leave-in treatment your dry/split ends will thank you for.

This serum is a vitamin-in-oil blend that works to intensely nourish dry hair ends whilst locking in moisture and preventing breakage and chronic dryness.

Not only does it lock in nutrition, but it also smooths hair and helps reduce the appearance of frizz and flyaways. Think of this as the ultimate hair oil for your ends!

Apply five drops of the split ends serum to damp or dry ends and style as usual, do not rinse!

The packaging is a beautiful ombre orange shade which looks fab on your bathroom vanity.

Your nose will be greeted with the signature fresh, calm, comforting nutritive scent and I can definitely say that after applying the oil to my ends, my hair was feeling glossy, hydrated and nourished.

This is quite a rich, thick oil and a little bit goes a long way so I would keep this in mind when applying, being sure to only apply to the ends of the hair to avoid feeling overly nourished towards the scalp/roots.

3. Kérastase Nutritive Lotion Thermique Sublimatrice.

What: Kérastase Nutritive Lotion Thermique sublimatrice 150ml

Now this step is a must-have for me!

This is a moisturising heat protect spray that uses a light milky leave-in formula to help protect hair from heat damage whilst working to revitalise the inner part of your hair at the same time.

Combining plant-based proteins, niacinamide and nourishing lipids, this heat protect spray also adds instant shine and radiance, whilst protecting the hair from heat up to 230°.

I absolutely LOVE anything with heat protection in it so, naturally, I loved this spray right off the bat!

The scent is divine and I found that the nourishing formula did such an excellent job at detangling my hair.

For best results, spray the heat protectant through the length of towel-dried, damp hair section by section. This is a leave-in formula so no need to rinse out!

4. Kérastase Nutritive Bain Satin Shampoo.

What: Kérastase Nutritive Satin 1 Shampoo for Normal to Dry Hair 250ml

Finding the right shampoo and conditioner is like finding your favourite pair of jeans.

If you’ve got dry hair that needs some TLC, I can confidently say that the Nutritive Bain Satin Shampoo might just be the perfect fit.

Combining plant-based proteins, niacinamide and glycerin, this shampoo works to nourish your hair fibres and soften hair from root to tip.

Its creamy gel texture offers a lightweight hit of hydration, improving moisture retention and leaving your locks looking and feeling silky smooth.

This shampoo has a clean, fresh scent, perfect for hair that needs a spruce up.

I was SUPER impressed with how soft and silky this shampoo alone made my hair feel. Usually after shampooing my hair feels dry and unruly but even after one shampoo, my hair felt detangled and soft whilst still feeling super clean. MASSIVE tick in my book.

When using this at home, apply a chestnut-sized amount of Bain Satin to wet hair and scalp, emulsify fully and rinse thoroughly.

5. Kérastase Nutritive Lait Vital Conditioner.

What: Kérastase Nutritive Lait Vital Conditioner for Dry Hair 200ml

Once we’ve bathed the hair, it’s time for conditioner! Introducing the well-known and loved Nutritive Lait Vital Conditioner.

The thing I loved most about this conditioner is that although it provided intense hydration to my hair, it has an ultra-light formula so I didn’t feel like my hair was weighed down or heavy which is super important to someone like me that loves a voluminous look!

Similar to the Bain Satin Shampoo, the Lait Vital Conditioner combines plant-based proteins, niacinamide and glycerin to seal the hair cuticle, assist with detangling and deliver deep penetration to hair fibres.

Both the Kérastase Nutritive Bain Satin Shampoo and Kérastase Nutritive Lait Vital Conditioner have a fresh, clean scent that wears well in the hair.

6. Kérastase Nutritive Nectar Thermique Blow-Dry Primer.

What: Kérastase Nutritive Nectar Thermique 150ml

Whilst we’re on the topic of leave-in treatments, if you have medium to thick hair we have to introduce you to the Nutritive Nectar Blow-Dry Primer.

This anti-frizz blow-dry milk protects hair from heat styling up to 230°C whilst providing nutrition, detangling, smoothness and shine to dry hair.

Combining plant-based proteins, niacinamide and glycerin, this leave-in treatment is the perfect pre-styling step to apply to the lengths of towel-dried hair section by section for glossy, protected locks.

7. Kérastase Nutritive 8HR Magic Night Hair Serum.

What: Kérastase Nutritive 8hr Magic Night Serum

Last but certainly not least, we can’t speak to the Kérastase Nutritive range without including the Nutritive 8HR Magic Night Hair Serum.

A multitasking hair hero, this nourishing serum gives a boost to all dry hair types.

Infused with iris root extract, niacinamide and a blend of five vitamins (including vitamin E for hair), the 8H Magic Night Serum deeply penetrates the hair fibre to restore the hair's balanced nutrition levels over 8 hours.

To properly articulate how much of a multi-tasker this overnight serum is, here are just some of its benefits:

• Aids with detangling hair and avoiding damage caused by pillow friction.

• Provides an intentionally evolving fragrance that helps promote relaxed sleep and energy in the morning.

• Increases manageability for normal to coarse hair.

• Hydrates without weighing down on fine hair.

• Provides definition to curly hair.

I like to apply about two pumps to the ends of my hair before bed and have found that in the morning my hair feels soft, nourished and deeply hydrated, all whilst I’ve been busy getting my beauty sleep!

Final Verdict…

The final verdict of this range is that it really is like a big hydrating hug for dry hair and scalp.

There were two things that I was REALLY impressed with by this range.

The first thing I LOVED about this range is its ability to add silky soft hydration whilst ensuring that the hair isn’t weighed down or heavy.

The second is its ability to offer a detangling effect, increasing manageability and decreasing opportunities for hair breakage/damage.

The range when used together works to treat AND prevent dryness from the scalp all the way down to lengths and ends.

It would be perfect for anyone that has a dry, dehydrated scalp/hair OR anyone that is feeling like their hair needs some TLC.

If you have oily roots and dry ends, you will especially love Kérastase Nutritive Nutri-Supplement Split Ends Serum.
