The Beauty Chef’s Best-Seller Just Got Better

We often talk about true beauty being inside and out. The last few years have seen the rise of a beauty trend promising exactly that.

‘Gut’ might not conjure up the prettiest picture, but beauty lovers (and science) are quickly realising the important role it can play. Because although you can apply all the topical products on your skin, there’s a serious benefit to ingesting the good stuff as well.

An increasing number of studies are recognising what The Beauty Chef founder Carla Oates calls the ‘gut-skin connection’. That the health and state of the gut can indicate or influence what’s happening outside on our skin.

If you haven’t already tried The Beauty Chef, you’ve likely at least heard of it or The Beauty Chef 14-day cleanse. Celebrities love it. Beauty editors rave about it. The internet is filled with  Beauty Chef reviews. And your next-door neighbour is on her fifth tub. (Probably).

Available in a few different variations, including Gut Primer and Cleanse Inner Beauty Powder, their best-seller GLOW just got even better with a new supercharged formula.

What’s The Difference?

Still a daily beauty powder packed with ingredients for radiant skin and better gut health, the main difference between the original GLOW Inner Beauty Powder and the new Supercharged Formula is the potency.

And, fun fact -  it’s actually GLOW’s third iteration.

“GLOW is now more potent, more bioavailable and contains more probiotics and postbiotics to support glowing skin, gut health and overall wellbeing.”

It’s also vegan, certified organic, and free from artificial flavours, preservatives, colours, gluten, dairy, soy, nut and egg.

It contains:

  • Double the provitamin A from natural sources including the microalgae Dunaliella Salina which is necessary for the cellular turnover process and contributes to a healthy immune system function.

  • Vitamin C for collagen formation.

  • Naturally occurring B vitamins including biotin derived from sprouted quinoa for healthy hair and skin, macronutrient metabolism and energy production.

  • Activated niacinamide (vitamin B3) which is integral for normal skin function and structure, energy release from food, helps with the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

Who Is It For?

Do you want healthier hair and nails, glowy skin and improved gut health for inner beauty? Then it’s made for you.

“At The Beauty Chef we believe that beauty begins in the belly, so GLOW is absolutely suited for those customers seeking a more holistic approach to beauty and wanting to achieve long-lasting results for their overall wellbeing,” says Carla.

But don't be fooled, it's not just the suggestion of glowing skin that will compel you to try this powder. You can listen to beauty editor, Joanna, explain how this powder drastically impacted her gut health on Adore Beauty's podcast here.

So... What Does It Actually Do?

Have you got five minutes? Because the promised benefits are pretty lengthy and we’re here for it.

GLOW is designed to help:

  • Nourish your gut microbiome for a truly natural glow

  • Boost collagen production

  • Support healthy hair and nails

  • Support cellular turnover process

  • Protects the skin from within

  • Contributes to a healthy immune system function

  • Contain prebiotics and probiotics for a healthy belly.

And from one little teaspoon, you can boost your recommended daily intake (RDI) of glow-adding goodness.

The new supercharged formula even more of key skin-loving nutrients vitamins A, C and zinc, providing 50 per cent of your RDI of zinc, 81 per cent of your RDI of Vitamin C and 16.7 per cent of your RDI of provitamin A.

“Organic sprouted quinoa has also been included to provide a naturally derived source of B group vitamins, specifically activated niacinamide (vitamin B3) for 24 per cent of your RDI and 25 per cent of your RDI of biotin,” says Carla.

And of course, the new formula contains more probiotics and postbiotics due to our more potent fermentation process.

Phew. Talk about an overachiever!

How Do You Drink It?

While GLOW looks slightly brown in the container, when mixed with water it actually turns into deep raspberry red which looks rather delicious. Mix 1 teaspoon (5g) daily into 200ml of liquid, like water, a smoothie or even juice.

Look. It’s no fancy cocktail, and it took a bit of getting used to drinking if you don’t regularly take supplements or powders but it tastes fine. The berry-like scent is lovely, with the new formula boasting almost tropical notes too.

While water is the simplest choice, some people find it a bit difficult to swallow. If so, there are plenty of other options - one of Carla's fave ways to take it is with coconut yoghurt.

However, it’s important to take your GLOW in a chilled or room temperature drink or dish as the heat kills the good bacteria (sorry tea!).

And once opened, pop your GLOW in the fridge to make sure you’re getting the most from all the beneficial and efficacious ingredients packed inside.
