My Morning Skincare Routine For Dry, Acne Prone Skin

This is my go-to for the 'good skin' days!

Quick and easy routine for every morning & evening

About the Author

I'm a makeup artist of over 5 years and specialise in skincare. I'm all about that fresh, dewy, glowing healthy-looking skin.

I'm Caitlin, I'm a part of the Adore Beauty customer service team. I'm all about that fresh, dewy, glowing healthy-looking skin and I'll do ANYTHING to get it. I would describe my skin as extremely dry and dehydrated with the occasional hormonal acne flare up. This is my everyday skincare morning routine to help combat my super dry skin when I find my hormones aren't interfering too much and my only concern is keeping it plump and juicy.

What's the Best Way to Treat Dry Skin?

Drink lots and lots of water! Hydrated skin is healthy skin. Lots of masks, will also help to get that hydration back into the skin.

My biggest tip is water, masks and exfoliate!

And finally, you need to buff away the dead dry skin so that your skincare can penetrate deeper into the skin and do it's job! All skin types are different so it's important to learn the best exfoliator type for you.

The Routine I Use Every Morning to Treat My Dry, Acne Prone Skin

Step 1: Cosmedix Oil Cleanser

Step 1: Cosmedix Oil Cleanser

When my skin is feeling super dry I love to use an oil cleanser! Cosmedix Purity Solution Deep Cleansing Oil deep cleans the skin and removes all traces of dirt and grime but leaves the skin feeling so nourished and not striped at all. I love to double cleanse with this cleanser so I apply one pump to a dry face and use a tiny bit of water to emulsify the cleanser and then I rinse my face and I repeat that process again and then gently pat dry.

Step 2: Cosmedix Firming Serum

Step 2: Cosmedix Firming Serum

Cosmedix Affirm Antioxidant Firming Serum is an amazing anti-ageing serum infused with peptides to tighten and firm and antioxidants to protect against further, preventable ageing from environmental aggressors. The bottle lasts me forever too, as you only need a tiny amount! I apply 1-2 pumps of this serum all over my face, pushing it in gently. This gives me the most beautiful glowing skin.

Step 3: Aspect Vitamin B Serum

Step 3: Aspect Vitamin B Serum

Aspect Extreme B 17 is an absolute skincare must-have for AM and PM, I cannot live without a good vitamin B serum and this one is up there with one of the best there is. I apply one measured pump to my entire face and follow with my other serum. This serum targets fine lines, wrinkles, redness, oil levels, and skin is left firmer, brighter, and smoother

Step 4: Aspect Moisturiser

Step 4: Aspect Moisturiser

Aspect Phytostat 9 is a must-have anti-aging emulsion cultivated for dry, dehydrated, and mature complexions. I apply 1 metered pump to my entire face in an upwards moving motion. It works to fight signs and can be used on all areas of the face and neck, including around the delicate eye area. It leaves my skin feeling plumper and more luminous than ever.

Step 5: Ultra Violette SPF 50+

Step 5: Ultra Violette SPF 50+

Last but certainly not least, my AM routine concludes with hands down the best facial SPF I have ever used. This light weight, 3 in 1 gives you the sun protection that you need but also has the makeup readiness of a primer. Ultra Violette Supreme Screen SPF 50+ Hydrating Facial Sunscreen sits perfectly under my makeup on the days I choose to wear it, and on the days that I choose to go makeup free it leaves my skin looking fresh and glowy.

And that's everything! Thanks for reading - you can read more about each product below and find my evening routine too.
