Amelia Singson shows us how to get glowy, glass like skin with these hydrating skin care products.

About the Author

Amelia Singson is a Sydney-based Makeup Artist with over a decade in the industry. She loves glowing skin, bushy brows and is partial to blush on the nose. Her relationship with skincare is deep and real, and she can talk about products until your ears fall off.

There is something incredibly chic about the translucent glow of the glass skin trend.

Clear, hydrated, dewy skin is Amelia Singson’s specialty, and she’s here to show us how to achieve it in this glass skin skincare routine.

This is the perfect routine for anyone getting ready for an event, or even for someone wanting to let their skin shine through their everyday makeup look.

Amelia’s dewy skin tips:

  • For the glass skin look, your best bet is applying lots of thin layers of hydration. This can be achieved by adding bonus steps such as mists, essences and hydrating serums

  • Remember to take your skincare down your neck and onto your decolletage.

What is glass skin?

Glass skin is a K-Beauty trend, which comes from layering a number of ultra-hydrating products to create a smooth, glass-like finish on the skin. You can achieve this glass-like texture by adding multiple extra steps to your skincare routine.

While blemish and pore-free skin is not a reality for everyone (let's be honest, nor should it be), we love the emphasis this trend puts on skincare and nourishing, barrier loving ingredients. The reflective, ethereal glow this skincare routine creates boosts any makeup routine you put together next, and is perfect for dry, dehydrated skin types

The glow-giving guide to glass-like skin:

Step 1: Prep & peel

Step 1: Prep & peel

Start your skincare routine with the Murad Age Reform Hydro-Glow Aqua Peel (4 Pack). This is a 2 step mask, with an exfoliant treatment. First, take the Retexturising Swab (containing Glycolic & Lactic acid) and swipe it over clean skin. Then, apply the Moisture Infusion Mask to the face for 15-20 minutes. This combination will remove the layer of dead skin from your face, and then boost your skin’s hydration levels.

Step 2: Refreshing spritz

Step 2: Refreshing spritz

A spritz of the  Jurlique Sweet Violet & Grapefruit Hydrating Mist will revive your skin post-mask before your next step.

Step 3: Hydrating essence

Step 3: Hydrating essence

Amelia uses a pump of the Murad Age Reform Hydro-Dynamic Quenching Essence 30ml after cleansing, massaging it evenly into the skin. This essence hydrates and smooths the skin, preparing it for your next step.

Step 4: B serum boost

Step 4: B serum boost

Next, apply a pump of the asap super B complex 30ml. This serum contains Niacinamide and Hyaluronic Acid to clear and plump the skin.

Step 5: Regenerating oil

Step 5: Regenerating oil

The Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil is a nourishing face oil and a bone fide glow giver. Apply several drops to your face, neck and decolletage, and lightly massage the product in. If you’re on the oilier side, you can try a dry oil like the Murad Professional Multi-Vitamin Infusion Oil

Step 6: Gua Sha

Step 6: Gua Sha

Next, Amelia uses the SALT BY HENDRIX Rose Quartz Love Gua Sha. This face tool helps with lymphatic drainage, depuffs the face, and gives it an extra glow. After applying your oil, gently glide the stone across your jawline, cheeks, brow, forehead and neck.

Step 7: Light gel moisturiser

Step 7: Light gel moisturiser

Amelia uses a light moisturiser like the Avène A-Oxitive Day Smoothing Water-Cream. This adds another light layer of hydration to the skin as well as antioxidant protection.

Step 8: Antioxidant eye serum

Step 8: Antioxidant eye serum

As her final step, Amelia uses the Murad Vita-C Eyes Dark Circle Corrector 15ml, patting a small drop underneath her eyes. This formula is packed with stabilized Vitamin C, so it brightens and helps to fight the signs of fatigue.
