I've used the Estee Lauder double wear plenty of times and to be honest I do prefer the old formula BUT this has its positives as well. It's a very easy foundation to apply, blends out really nice and it's very buildable. It has a lightweight feeling to it on application but it does give very good coverage. In my opinion I would like it to have more of a hydrating finish instead of the matte. I found that after only a couple of hours this foundation sunk into every single fine line on my face and around any blemishes I had. It did hold up for a full day on a wine tour in warm weather and once I went to wash it off I needed a heavy hand with some micellar water to move it. I think it's a lovely foundation and a great choice for those who like decent coverage. Would recommend!

I received this product from Estee Lauder to review. As someone in my late 40s who doesn't wear foundation regularly, my first impression of Double Wear wasn't actually great, but I'm glad I gave it another try! Initially, I applied a small amount and tried to spread it quite thinly. I found that it dried very quickly and tended to drag across my skin, highlighting texture rather than smoothing over it. The second time, I made sure my skin was really well moisturised first and used a more generous amount of foundation. The difference was huge. It applied much more evenly and gave me a smooth, almost flawless matte finish without settling into my lines or emphasising my skin texture. What impressed me most was how well it lasted. It stayed looking fresh for hours without breaking down around my nose or disappearing in areas like other foundations can. In fact, it was so long-wearing that I needed a thorough cleanse to remove it! For my skin, good preparation and application made all the difference.

I've really enjoyed testing the Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup. The formula has a lightweight feel while still giving buildable coverage, which I really appreciate. It blends easily and leaves my complexion looking smooth, even and polished without feeling like I'm wearing a heavy layer of foundation. The biggest standout for me is definitely the staying power. I tested it throughout the day and was impressed with how well it held up, particularly through the areas where my makeup normally starts to fade or break down. I also liked being able to build the coverage in specific areas rather than having to apply a heavy layer all over my face. As someone with more mature skin, I'm always interested in how a foundation looks several hours after application, not just immediately after putting it on. Double Wear maintained a really nice appearance throughout the day and felt comfortable to wear. Disclaimer: I received this product from Estee Lauder to review.
