Most Helpful Positive

Lovely and Soft

Hayley

I am really loving this milk and the ease of using it. The smell reminds me of my childhood when my mum and all her friends used this. If I am taking off medium makeup I use bioderma water to remove first then go in with this milk. If I’m wearing heavy makeup I use the Clarins gentle cleanser then this. Sometimes just use this twice. I don’t always follow the Clarins recommended way of using it by taking it off with a toner. Simply just put it straight onto my dry face and cleanse it all around. Use a damp washer to remove it. My skin always looks fresh, feels soft and smells lovely.

Don't often find use for this in my routine

Renee

This product is very gentle on my skin and feels nice to use. However, I don't often find a use for it in my routine. I tend to use make up remover when I get home then a foaming cleanser in the shower, whereas this I don't really often think to use it. Does feel lovely though.
  1. Good for sensitive skin

    Laura

This isn't my normal go-to cleanser, but for the price point is excellent value with good results. The texture is quite milky (as the name suggests!), and results are calming for my sensitive skin.

  4. Soothing

    Kaylah

Super soft and gentle cleanser that feels amazing and leaves my skin refreshed and nourished.
  5. Good product

    Iq

A bit stingy in starting but leaves skin supple and soft after wards..cleans skin properly and gives results.
  6. Super gentle

    Jordi

I really like this cleanser as a second step in my double cleanse, following a balm cleanser, or for the morning to refresh my skin.

I think it is a bit expensive for what it is but has a super lovely smell and never leaves my skin feeling tight or stripped. It does not do a good job of removing makeup at all.
  7. What is this?

    Slavce

This really does nothing for my skin, might as well use water.
  8. good for everyday

    perfecting skin

its is a good cleanser that does not dries out my skin but it is nothing exceptional. it does what it says and leave my skin smooth.
  9. Worth a try

The Cleansing Milk with Alpine Herbs has a strong, old fashioned scent. I have sensitive, eczema prone skin, so this was a gamble for me, and it paid off. This cleansing milk from Clarins suits my skin, and I would love to repurchase it, except for the fact that I use more of this product per wash, compared to my previous cleansers. For the price and quantity, I don't see myself repurchasing this any time soon, but reading beauty writer Sali Hughes' description of the Clarins Cleansing Milks, was too much temptation to not try these, unchanged since their first launch in 1966 (bar the plastic bottle, they used be weighty glass bottles).
Also, to remove heavy layers of makeup, use this cleaning milk with a very hot cloth, this won't require a double cleanse afterwards.
  10. Nice but not amazing

    Nadya

Nice and non-drying cleanser. I wouldn't say it's the best cleanser I've tried though.
  11. Calming & Gentle Cleanser

    Anita

I been using this product for 10 years and it never disappoints. I have very sensitive skin and I find it doesn't irritate unlike other cleansers. Leaves a beautiful fresh fragrance and skin feels hydrated.
  12. Average

    Madelaine

I think this is very overpriced for the performance of the product - it doesn't strip your skin so it is great for dry skin, but it doesn't leave you feeling very cleansed or hydrated either. Definitely does not remove any makeup. I can find drugstore cleansers that do a much better job than this expensive one.
  13. Lovely but not great

    Michelle

Feels lovely on and smells nice, but didn’t feel like it cleansed my face at all.
  14. Not for me

    Is

I understand that this is a great cleanser for some people, but for me it was very disappointing. I felt like I needed to cleanse again after using it.
  15. Soothing and hydrating

    Lara

I'm in my mid thirties and have quite dry skin. I've been trying a few new skincare products lately to combat those early aging signs, and this cleansing milk has been just beautiful for my skin! It's super gentle and doesn't leave my cheeks red or inflamed which is something I'm prone to. The fragrance is quite prominent, however I've grown to really like it and look forward to using this in the evening to cleanse my skin. I use a different clarins cleanser in the morning which I love also, but find this is the most hydrating for night. My skin feels beautifully clean and soft after using this and I will definitely repurchase when this bottle runs out. A small amount goes a long way too, so a bottle will last a long time which is a bonus! Highly recommended.
  16. Non-stripping Cleanser

    Amy

I have very dry skin and can only use milks or balms to cleanse my skin. I love that this doesn't leave an oily residue and my skin still feels hydrated after. I don't use it to remove makeup, just to cleanse in the mornings. Repurchased many times.
  17. Good for dry skins

    Kirsty

This is a good cleanser for those who have skin on the dryish side and who like strong-smelling products. I don't fall into either of those categories, but found the Clarins Cleansing Milk to be OK. It didn't break me out and I could tolerate the strong herby smell (although I didn't love it). I ended up using this when away from home and found it quite nice and soothing. It's not a particularly strong or effective cleanser, however, so is better suited for people who aren't prone to oiliness or blocked pores etc.
  18. Gentle on the skin

    Stella

I love how light this cleanser feels on my skin. Really great at removing all my makeup but not leaving my skin feeling too stripped.
  19. Good, but...

    Ashleigh

This is a lovely cleansing milk that smells lovely and easily cleans the skin's surface, however, if you have sensitive skin, you may find that the inclusion of various herbs irritates or reddens parts of the skin. I would still classify this as gentle, so please don't be too put off, but if you are ultra sensitive than perhaps another cleanser would be better.
  20. Perfect for dry and sensitive skin

    Lauren

I just bought my second bottle of this, it is perfect for my dry and sensitive skin. It is gentle on the skin while still doing a good job of cleansing the face.
  21. Brilliant

    Rebekah

Love love love this cleanser. It's my first time using clairns and my skin has improved dramatically. My face looks and feels so soft
  22. Timless Classic

    Jude

This is fabulous cleanser, so gentle on your skin whilst removing all make up. Your skin always feels so clean and fresh after use. I have used this product for over 25years & it still leaves my skin in excellent condition.
  23. Great makeup remover

    TA

I love this cleanser! I use this to remove all my makeup before using the ASAP Daily Cleanser. It removes all makeup (including eye makeup) in such a gentle way. Smells great and makes skin very soft after use.

This is a beautiful smelling cleanser, with an unusual application (in my experience). You warm your hands, and then squeeze a small amount into your palms and then lay your hands flat on your face. Then you pull your hands away from the face (like patting) 4 times to create a 'suction' effect and then rinse with water. It did make my skin feel a bit tight after first use, but it cleaned off excess makeup and oil extremely well. My skin feels so soft and luscious and after many months of use, it still provides fantastic results.

This cleanser is easy to apply, remove and smells great. Makeup is so easy to take off using this cleanser and the Clarins cupping method to "lift" makeup, dirt and impurities from the skin. I have sensitive combination skin, but this cleanser gives my face a good clean, without irritating, while leaving me feeling moisturised, and not greasy at all.
