Shop Hair Treatments for Dry, Damaged and Colour-Treated Hair

A hair treatment does the jobs your shampoo and conditioner cannot. It stays on the hair for longer and the formula is more concentrated, so it can go after one problem at a time: dryness, breakage, frizz or a scalp that feels tight and unhappy. This range covers masks, oils, serums, leave-in products and scalp care for every hair type. Adore Beauty is an official stockist of the brands in this range.

How to Choose the Best Treatments for Hair

Start with what your hair is telling you. If it feels rough and looks dull, it is probably short on moisture, so browse hair treatments for dry hair. If it snaps when you brush it or the ends look frayed, it needs strengthening, and our haircare for damaged hair and split ends is the place to look. A damaged hair treatment such as the Pureology Strength Cure Superfoods Treatment is made for exactly that. For coloured hair, check the label for colour-safe formulas, because a treatment that strips colour defeats the purpose. Heavy products can weigh fine hair down, so a lighter treatment used less often usually works better there.

Types of Hair Treatment

Each format does something different. Hair masks are rinsed out and give the deepest hit of moisture or repair. Hair oils smooth the surface and add shine, and the Wella Professionals SP Luxe Oil Reconstructive Elixir is one to try. A leave-in conditioner works between washes to keep ends soft, while scalp treatments look after the skin your hair grows from. Many people use more than one, such as a weekly mask with a few drops of oil on the ends.

How to Get the Most From a Hair Treatment

Apply it to clean, towel-dried hair and comb it through so every strand is covered. Leave it on for the time on the label, then rinse well. Results build with regular use, so give a new treatment a few weeks before you decide whether it is working. An at-home hair treatment is a routine habit, not a one-off, so pick something you will actually use.

Frequently Asked Questions About Hair Treatments

What is the difference between a hair mask and a conditioner?

A hair mask is more concentrated and is left on for longer, so it gives deeper hydration and repair. A conditioner mainly detangles and adds surface moisture. You can use both, or swap one for the other.

How often should I use a hair treatment?

It depends on the product and your hair. Many masks are used once or twice a week, while lighter treatments suit more regular use. Follow the directions on the label.

Can a hair treatment repair split ends?

A treatment can strengthen hair and help reduce further breakage, but it cannot rejoin a split end. Trimming is the only way to remove split ends completely.

Softens hair and calms frizz

I love its effect upon applying it into wet hair, it softens and detangles easily. However, I cannot tell if it contributes to buildup, as I only apply 2 sprays, and its formula is quite light. It smells gorgeous, like a floral strawberry, which I love!

Smells really good, applies nicely but I haven't noticed a difference or improvement in my hair. Could just be that it's not compatible with my hair
