I’m a Dermal Therapist & These Are the Beauty Products I’ll Always Repurchase

When I'm not treating clients in my job as a dermal therapist, I trial a lot of beauty products so I can write about them.

I know. It's a tough gig.

So when I spend my own money on products, it's proof they're legitimately great.

While my beauty office could double as a backdrop for the TV show Hoarders, I’ve only found a handful of makeup, skin care and hair products over the years that I really couldn't live without.

I'm talking products I simply must repurchase for my own survival the moment they run out.

Dramatic, but true.

Let's take a stickybeak at 10 of the beauty products I'm constantly recommending and repurchasing.

1. IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream.

What:

IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream SPF50

A medium to full coverage CC cream that evens out your complexion, never feels cakey and just looks like real skin.

Why I’m obsessed:

Big call: I think this is my favourite makeup base of all time.

The sell-out foundation makes your skin look flawless, without you having to do much else to it.

Plus, a little goes a long way, so a tube of this will last you ages. You could wear it every day as a light base, or build up the coverage to wear it as your foundation on a night out.

The IT Cosmetics CC cream does come in illuminating and oil-free matte versions, but they've never been quite the same as the original for me.

We compare the different IT Cosmetics CC cream products in this YouTube video below.

2. OPI Nail Lacquer in Samoan Sand.

What:

OPI Nail Lacquer Samoan Sand

A warm-toned neutral nail polish shade that works beautifully for medium skin tones.

Why I’m obsessed:

Beauty IQ writer Sadaf wrote an article about how she always gets compliments on this neutral nail polish shade, and I have to agree.

It's one of the best neutral nail shades on the market for anyone with a medium skin tone or warm skin undertones.

I love this Samoan Sand nail polish shade so much, I took it with me on a Europe trip years ago so it could be my holiday nail shade.

Bonus: All OPI nail polishes are amazing quality and the bottles seem to last forever!

3. Skinceuticals C E Ferulic Serum.

What:

SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic Serum

A 15% L-Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) serum that brightens the skin and provides antioxidant protection.

It's probably one of the most popular vitamin C products in the world... and this isn’t even an exaggeration.

Side note: SkinCeuticals make a few different vitamin C serums for different skin types and concerns, you can find out which one would suit you in this video below.

Why I’m obsessed:

This was one of the first vitamin C serums I actually saw results from using.

I notice the difference in my skin when I’m not using this consistently, plus it’s helped lighten my hyperpigmentation.

The only C E Ferulic downside is it's pretty expensive, but in my experience, you do get what you pay for when it comes to vitamin C serums.

4. Aspect Probiotic Mask.

Aspect Probiotic Mask. Aspect Probiotic Mask.

What:

Aspect Probiotic Mask

A face mask/moisturiser/overnight mask hybrid that pumps moisture and hydration back into the skin, and can help restore a broken skin barrier.

Why I’m obsessed:

I LOVE this mask. The true definition of an oldie but a goodie!

My favourite way to use it is as a 10-minute face mask before makeup. This is because it is the best at calming and hydrating skin to help makeup apply smoothly.

It basically feels like a big drink of water, for your face.

However, if your skin is feeling tight, dehydrated or irritated in any way, replacing your moisturiser with this at night will help calm things right down.

5. Laneige Cream Skin Mist.

What:

Laneige Cream Skin Mist

A hydrating face mist rich in antioxidants to refresh and add hydration to skin at any time of the day.

Why I’m obsessed:

There’s no doubt I’m team face mist. I love constantly spraying my face with one throughout the day.

I always apply a face mist in between serums to help my products absorb better, and I even use it in place of a makeup setting spray.

NIOD Superoxide Dismutase Saccharide Mist (SDSM2) is one of my bougie can't-live-without mists, but the Laneige mist is an excellent more affordable option all skin types will love.

6. Aspect Extreme B 17.

Aspect Extreme B 17 Aspect Extreme B 17

What:

Aspect Extreme B 17

A vitamin B serum packed with peptides and antioxidants suited to all skin types.

Why I’m obsessed:

A vitamin B serum will forever be a staple in my skincare routine. I like a lot of vitamin B serums, but I always come back to this one.

I apply it after my vitamin C serum in the morning. Or if my skin is feeling dehydrated, I cocktail it with the Aspect Hydrating Serum for extra hydration.

That's the best thing about Aspect serums; they're all designed to be mixed and matched for use in your morning and/or evening skincare routines.

7. Glasshouse Fragrances Candles.

What:

The ultimate affordable candles for your home, with the best fragrance selection to choose from!

Why I’m obsessed:

I love Glasshouse candles because 1) they are affordable and 2) there are so many scents you can rotate through depending on your mood, the weather or the occasion.

For the price, the fragrances last so well in your home, which means you don't have to burn them for as long to experience the scents.

Glasshouse Fragrances Movie Night Candle is my current favourite - the caramel popcorn and choc top scent is very sweet but very delicious.

8. Anastasia Beverly Hills Mini Soft Glam Palette.

What:

Anastasia Beverly Hills Mini Soft Glam EyeShadow Palette

A mini version of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Palette with eight very wearable neutral shades.

Why I’m obsessed:

I basically use this eyeshadow palette every day.

Whether it’s one shade quickly applied over the eyelids in the morning as I rush my kids out the door, or a few shades blended together if I have the time, I always get compliments on my eye makeup when I use this.

I'm not a makeup expert at all, but the palette is so easy to use. The staying power, pigment and shades are all brilliant.

The mini size is just so convenient - the full-size looks stunning, but the smaller mini palette works perfectly for my lifestyle and needs

9. Evo Haze Styling Powder.

evo texture powder evo texture powder

What:

evo haze styling powder pump

A styling powder that adds volume and texture to your hair, without making it look too gritty.

Why I’m obsessed:

I love using this texture powder in place of dry shampoo when I haven’t washed my hair.

It makes your hair look super messy and sexy, like you've just woken up.

And maybe you have... but nobody needs to know that.

A few spritzes add the best amount of volume and body to dull, lifeless hair that desperately needs to be washed.

10. The Beauty Chef Body Inner Beauty Powder.

What:

The Beauty Chef Body Inner Beauty Powder With Hemp - Chocolate

A plant-based, vegan protein powder full of prebiotics and probiotics available in chocolate and vanilla flavours.

Why I’m obsessed:

I honestly love so many of The Beauty Chef products, but I'm almost never without this in my cupboard.

The vegan protein powder doesn’t taste weird in your smoothies, and contains a complete amino acid profile, which you don’t always get with plant-based protein powders.

I rotate the vanilla and chocolate flavours depending on what I’m feeling.

Great quality. Great ingredients. Add to cart.
