Avoid using other strong active treatments at the same time unless advised by a skincare professional. Step 5. Follow with a moisturiser to help complete your evening skincare routine. Start gradually if your skin is new to retinal products and increase use as tolerated. Step 7. The following morning, cleanse your skin and apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen as the final step of your morning skincare routine, as retinal products can increase sensitivity to sunlight. Step 8.
