A weird one, but a great one!

Shannon (Adore Beauty Staff)

As part of the skincare team (especially as a staff member who reliably does reviews, lol) sometimes products land on my desk and I'm asked to give feedback on them if I want to. I mean, I'm sometimes the one writing the product description so it definitely HELPS to have hands on experience with things.

Sometimes, like now, I think it also helps for me to do a review off the bat when I think products are a bit confusing.

When I got this though I pulled the usual NIOD-induced pokerface, having only just read the name of the product. Survival. Oh, yep, that's descriptive.... or not.

These days I don't read the product copy on boxes and skip straight to the ingredients lists to get the goss on whether a product will work and what I can expect - that was my "aha!" moment So, this is just a really lovely antioxidant that boosts your skin's natural defenses. When I say "just" I mean it's actually really impressive.

This has a lot of really cool technologies in it, and I think users of certain more expensive, stinky products will really enjoy this.

Expect a jelly-like, lightweight serum. This serum is a light brown in colour and it smells, to be honest, like a herbal-earthy-aniseed, so if that's not your thing than by all means pass. That said, compared to other intensive antioxidant serums this is wonderful! I really like the smell.

I don't use this in conjunction with actives like AHAs & BHAs primarily because I have not done the research yet, and secondarily because it's easier to take a break from chemical exfoliants when you have incentive to do so.

This is a lovely product and for the price, it's pretty phenomenal in terms of what it can do! It's not greasy, and it counters more specific things than just your garden variety Vitamin C serums too. I'd recommend giving this a shot!
  1. Watery serum

After using the ordinary products for a while I decided to branch out and try this still reasonably priced serum. It has a very watery texture which I actually like as it’s easier to layer with more oily products. I’ve only been using it for a week so can’t say if there are skin benefits yet but it has been easy to add into my beauty regime in the evenings and as it has more actives than the single active ordinary products definitely worth using.
