Makeup For Oily Skin

Makeup For Oily Skin

Don't despair - the battle against shine can be won! Though a dewy look is in, there's a line between a youthful glow and an oil slick. We've collected our favourite makeup solutions that can kick oil to the curl, or survive sweaty workout at the gym.

Though makeup works differently on everyone, these products are designed to stay put, and last throughout the day. We know how hard it can be to find a mascara and eyeliner that doesn't melt or smudge or give you the dreaded raccoon-eye effect, but these work a treat for us!

When your skin is prone to oiliness, it can be really hard to find a foundation that keeps the shine at bay and looks just as good when you finish the day, as when you started. Try using a mattifying primer and/or a setting spray to really lock in your look. Another option is a mineral powder - these are so finely milled that they don't give you the dreaded powdery mask effect. A great setting or finishing powder can also go a long way to reducing shine throughout the day.

Blotting powders are becoming more and more popular - simply dab away the oil, no need to add another layer of powder. These banish oil while keeping your makeup intact - an essential for the gym, or a day out in the Aussie sun!

Still not sure about which makeup solution you need to perfect your look? We'd love to help! Simply fill out our makeup product recommendation form and we'll get you in touch with our trained makeup artists.

Are you one of those people who doesn’t believe in primers? I used to be a primer sceptic, until I tried a really good one, then I understood the real necessity of priming your skin for makeup application. Imagine repainting a wall that hasn’t been wiped down, sanded and primed. Of course the finish is […]

I’ve always wished I had curly hair – my dead straight, fine and flat tresses just don’t do it for me. That was until I entered the beauty industry and I realised that having curly hair is like being part of an exclusive club. Unless you’re in this club, you don’t realise there’s lots of knots, […]

If a beauty editor tells you they personally love something, it means that product is good enough to outshine the 257 other products they used that week. So when I heard a few other editors raving about Pureology’s Colour Fanatic, I thought I’d better give it a whirl – I mean, it claims to have 21 […]
