M.A.C Cosmetics Matte Lipstick in Velvet Teddy is one of the brand's most beloved and best-selling lipstick shades. Some would even call it the perfect neutral lip colour.
Now, this iconic lipstick comes in a fancy new version called MAC Powder Kiss Lipstick in Teddy 2.0.
The Teddy 2.0 shade is a tawnier version of the universally-loved original rosy brown neutral Velvet Teddy colour. But the new powder kiss matte formula? It's a game-changer.
M.A.C Cosmetics Powder Kiss Lipstick is the total opposite of everything you know about hard-to-wear matte lipsticks.
Forget dry and cracked lips. These modern matte lippies contain moisture-coated powder pigments that condition and hydrate lips for a soft-touch, misty matte kiss of colour.

MAC Velvet Teddy Lipstick vs. Teddy 2.0.
If you're not sure what the difference is between the original MAC Velvet Teddy matte lipstick and the new Teddy 2.0, here's your quick recap:
MAC Velvet Teddy Lipstick:
M.A.C Cosmetics Matte Lipstick is the brand's best-selling traditional matte lipstick.
The shade Velvet Teddy = A rosy deep-toned beige.
Comfortable, highly-pigmented formula delivers a shine-free matte finish with high colour payoff that lasts.
It's also anti-feathering, which means no bleeding, drying, cracking or crumbling on the lips.
Best for: Creating a bold, powerful matte lipstick look that Will Not Budge.
MAC Powder Kiss Teddy 2.0 Lipstick:
M.A.C Cosmetics Powder Kiss Lipstick is a matte lipstick with a soft-focussed, blurred finish.
The shade Teddy 2.0 = A tawny deep-toned beige.
Combines the long-wearing and zero-shine qualities of a matte lipstick with the cushiony, lightweight feeling of a hydrating lip product.
Non-drying and comfortable to wear.
Best for: A lower maintenance matte lipstick look that will fade out beautifully throughout the day.
As you can see, both of these two Teddy shades are equally lovely.
They deliver a stunning neutral shade with a matte finish, and are suitable on all skin tones. But you can only get the new Teddy 2.0 shade in the modern powder kiss matte formula.
My MAC Lipstick Teddy 2.0 Review.
OK cool, but what's Teddy 2.0 really like? Spoiler: It's bloody beaut!
As someone who A) is fairly lazy and B) eats and drinks a lot, I love the softer, less 'done' matte effect of the powder kiss lipstick formula.
Think of it as matte lipstick, but with training wheels on. You get the power and boldness of a traditional matte in a hydrating formula that feels creamy on the lips. No gross congealed bits of lippie or harsh lip liner by the end of the day here!
In fact, I'd go as far as to say MAC Powder Kiss Lipstick almost looks better the longer you wear it, because it fades out to a stain that people will think was on purpose.
(Or at least, that's what I tell myself when I forget to reapply...)
It is still a matte lipstick though, so you'll get the best application on lips that have been exfoliated or prepped with a lip primer or hydrating balm. That said, the texture of this formula is more forgiving and harder to stuff up.
Oh, and if you're in a rush or just can't be effed with using a heap of makeup products in the morning, you can apply Teddy 2.0 as your blush.
I like to dab it straight onto the apples of my cheeks and blend upwards using my fingers or a flat stippling makeup brush for a tonal effect that looks way more put together than I usually feel.
Case in point: I got around 30 DMs from people asking where they could find my lipstick and blush combo when I posted that shameless selfie above wearing this lippie on Instagram.
Bottom line, if you already love MAC's Velvet Teddy lipstick, I'd bet on my indoor plant collection you'll adore the new shade Teddy 2.0, too.
