Most Helpful Positive

For sensitive skin

Hayley

I purchased this after seeing Joanna's instagram story and it really cleared up my sensitive skin. It feels amazing and soothing. I now only use on reactions / break outs but still love it! A must have for anyone with sensitive skin, and the price is so affordable.

Comfortable on skin

I was recommended La Roche-Posay by an AdoreBeauty online consultant for my sensitive, red & dry 51 year old skin.

Whenever I try a new range I like to get a selection of products to give it a sold try. This review covers the following La Roche-Posay products which I've used for 4 weeks now:

- Rosaliac AR intense
- Toleraine Ultra
- Toleraine Ultra Nuit
- Toleraine Sensitive
- Toleraine Sensitive Riche
- Toleraine Riche
- Cicaplast Baume B5
- Cicaplast Mains
- Cicaplast Levres

First of all, what the heck are each of these products designed for?!!? Which do I use for what? They all claim to "soothe, hydrate, repair" or some combination thereof but the facial creams are hard to decipher. Sure "nuit" is a night time cream and the Rosaliac an antirosacea product but Toleraine Sensitive, Toleraine Sensitive Riche, Toleraine Riche?!!? Utterly confusing & the La Roche-Posay website helped not one bit.

The positives of these products are that they are not heavily fragranced, sit comfortably on my skin/lips/hands and soak into my skin quite well. I particularly like the lip balm & hand barrier cream. Both are good at providing protection without a heavy, greasy feel. The Toleraine Sensitive cream also soaks in particularly well.

Unfortunately most of the face creams live a shiny film which I find particularly annoying on my already often red face. Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer sound familiar?

The Rosaliac AR Intense lotion was in fact not intense enough to calm my skin when angry, red, sore & burning. It's just not thick & emollient enough. Similarly while the Ultra products are fragrance, alcohol, paraben & lanolin free, they're just not moisturising enough for my skin.

Conversely the Cicaplast Baume B5 cream must be meant for nappy rash as it reminds me of zinc oxide. It sits on top of the skin and leaves a white film over the skin.

None of the La Roche-Posay products aggravated or irritated my skin but aside from the hand & lip creams, none of them felt like they were doing anything to make my skin better. I'm ambivalent about recommending these products so I'd suggest you try them for yourself & see how you go.

  2. Amazing day cream

    Kate

I have sensitive skin that often reacts to new creams that I try out. My skin did not react to this at all and I found it worked really well. For such a light cream, it added heaps of moisture. Very happy and the price point is a bonus. I use this in conjunction with the Toleriane Ultra Overnight and feel it gives even better results.
  3. really happy

    harli

this is perfect if you have sensitive acne prone skin
  4. Sensitive skin savior!

    Megan

I used this on a recommendation from an article on Adore Beauty about a girl who had a bad rash on her face. I had a reaction to a cream a makeup artist used on my face and couldn't get ride of the red agitated reaction for about 12 months. After reading the article I purchased the sensitive skin micellar water and this moisturiser and it was fantastic!

Within about 3 weeks my rash was almost gone! The routine is so soft on the skin but does absolute wonders, I have recommended it to everyone.
  5. Gentle and moisterising, BFF of sensitive dry skin

    KateT

This moisteriser rescued my red patchy irritated skin. It soaks into the skin well and Is not greasy. Best part is that it is not irritating or clog pouring but still intensely moisterising.
May seem expensive for a drugstore brand but acts more like a luxury high end skin care. A rescue for sensitive skin,
  6. Best for cystic acne prone skin

    Christina

I've never had acne my whole life until last year at the age of 37 then I ended up with a problem with blocked pores, cystic hormonal acne etc... I tried everything in terms of moisturisers.. And this by far has been THE BEST. Along with a good cleansing routine I use this on my face daily. I've noticed no breakouts, glowing skin. I'm not embarrassed to leave my house anymore. I was going crazy before. I could kiss this product!!
  7. Soothing cream

    Hayley

Received a sample of this product. Easily absorbed into the skin leaving it smooth soft and hydrated, great for sensitive skin types.
  8. Moisture

This product works really well with my sensitive skin. Keeps it calm and hydrated. The product feels great on the skin too. Totally recommend!
  9. Great

    Peter

I use this ultra light moisturizer on my face after shaving and I find it to be a wonderful balm. I appreciate that it does not make my face greasy or shiny.

This Is a great moisturiser without being too rich
  12. Best cream for sensitive skin

    Fhan

I had trouble with finding and using cream, whether it be natural or organic I still got allergic reaction to it. This one however, works wonders with me, it might not stop all the itching/redness instantly but it does it wonders overnight/over the day.

On to my seconds, Thank god I found this <3
  13. Good for the depressed time

    Ying

I used this when my skin was allergic, sensitive and itchy. My skin was reactive to almost everything at that time. It worked miracle. I thank god that found it! The tube runs very fast in my case. I also used La Roche-Posay Toleriane Riche afterwards as a perfect substitute - identical cream, just without the vacuum packaging:)
  14. Healed my skin

    Bianca

This was a great help for around my eyes with eczema such a lovely think product

  16. Holy Grail Moisturiser

    Kit

Background: acne-prone skin, oily T-zone, dry patches
I have used creams from SU:M37, Laneige, Iope Cosrx, jojoba oil and marula oil. However they were unable to balance moisturising my skin without creating further oiliness/tight skin later on.
My sister introduced me to the La Roche-Posay's TUISC she'd been gifted. Now I am on my second bottle and use it in conjunction with SK-II's essence and Cosrx snail essence. It moisturises without feeling heavy, does not leave an oily T-zone when I wake up, does not break me out and is fragrance free. It is light enough to layer under my sunscreen comfortably. Packaging is hygienic and durable (my clumsy hands have knocked it off the shelf multiple times). HG status.
  17. Great for sensitive skin

    Bianca

Great for sensitive skin good texture good for eczema as well this product saved my skin
  18. Finally!

    Bella

As someone who struggles with sensitive skin, eczema and outbreaks of perioral dermatitis I have spent years hunting for moisturisers that actually work and don't make the problem worse - this year I finally discovered la roche's toleriane line! I have been using this, the regular ultra light, and the blue bottle night cream for few months, and can't decide on which one I love most! The 0% is probably the most versatile though, and I have been through about four bottles of it. It's a little less rich than the regular ultra light, and is perfect under makeup or bb/sunscreens. The packaging is amazing and perfect for travel. Worth every cent the price tag.
  19. Very gentle

    Jasmine

I have dry sensitive acne prone skin and this ticks all the boxes. It soothes and moisturises without irritating my skin or causing more acne. Love the packaging and the price is affordable. Will keep repurchasing.
  20. A good simple cream

    Obielena

This is nice if you're looking for basics. It has no fragrance and other nasty things added, It's non comedogenic so great if you struggle with acne and breakouts and it doesn't feel heavy on your skin. I personally didn't find it hydrating enough for me, as I tend to prefer richer moisturisers such as Clinique moisture surge, but I can appreciate that this is a very good moisturiser for sensitive skin.
  21. Good but not for me..

    Jessica

I think this is great for someone looking for a simple moisturiser with not too many ingredients and no fragrance. However on me this felt like my face was sweating while I had it on, I felt like it was too thin and watery feeling and not hydrating enough for me unfortunately. I tend to go for thicker moisturisers that feel like they 'sink in' to my skin not just sit on top,

but definitely worth trying if you have ultra sensitive skin that can't handle fragrances.
  22. Lovely light soothing moisturiser

    Sophie

This is such a nice, lightweight, no-frills moisturiser. I apply two pumps at night and always leaves my combination sensitive rosacea skin well hydrated.I love that it has no fragrance and sinks into the skin quickly.
I think if you had very dry skin or live in a cold climate this might not be thick enough. But for my skin it has been great, and have repurchased multiple times - and this does not happen often with products!!!
    Highly recommend
  23. 2 years and counting

    G

Previously someone said they've been using this for a year? I will join the club and say I have been using this for about 2 years or so..

I have sensitive skin and my skin loves this moisturiser. It's lightweight, no fragrance, no harsh chemicals,it's just a really good product.

The only reason why I left down a star is because this is not the best for colder days. For winter I switch to Clinique's moisture surge or Indeed Lab as those are more hydrating for my skin.

During winter I unfortunately get very stubborn dry patches around the mouth and forehead area and this moisturizer does not seem to do it for me.

Besides that, every other day I love this product and my skin never reacts to this.

    Definitely give this a go!!

  24. Light but highly hydrating

    Kristee

True to its name - a lightweight but highly hydrating moisturizer, great for summer days or tropical climate. Absorbs easily into the skin; good value for money as you don't need much of it either. Love it!
  25. 1 year later - still my favourite

    Shannon (Adore Beauty Staff)

Just wanted to write another review for this product. It took me a year to get through that last bottle, and while I admit I strayed once or twice (never more than two consecutive days though!) there really isn't anything that works for me quite like this.

Other, much more expensive moisturisers break me out, or leave me shiny by the end of the day. My skin hovers somewhere between normal, combination, and dry depending on the weather, and whatever business is going down with hormones, but this seems to be able to provide for my skin no matter what.

It's really beautiful under makeup, and I'm still loving the way I can add more where I need it for long-lasting hydration, and sheer it out on my t-zone where i get oily for less hydration.

I have some concealers that lean on the dry and thick side, but if I use this underneath I never get cakeing.

I love that it's an airless pump, I love how little you need, I just love it so much.

Seriously. Try this. I'd pay double or more for it. Especially as it seems to last and last, both on my face and in the tube.

Joyful rant is done, I promise!
  26. My go-to moisturiser!

    Shannon (Adore Beauty Staff)

I'm prone to eczema around the eyes, and while I could never live without my First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream for helping to heal the area at night-time, this is my favourite daytime moisturiser to soothe and protect my skin throughout the entire day (for the record, you definitely don't want to get that repair cream in your eyes!).

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Intense Soothing Care is serious business when it comes to light-weight, long-lasting hydration that will keep your skin feeling comfortable and hydrated. It absorbs quickly (why must so many creams for sensitive and intolerant skins be so thick!?) and works really well under sunscreen.

I'm a happy camper and you can always tell on the days where I've chosen to use another moisturiser - my eczema always appears redder and angrier.

I have dry skin but I think this would work for anyone seeking a fuss-free moisturiser - it's light-weight enough that it wont bog down combination skins I think, and it's hydrating enough for dry skin.

    Highly recommended!
