Hydrating

Jia

This hand cream is very hydrated but the texture is a bit sticky. I only use it at night before I go to bed and in the morning my hand feels so soft. Definitely repurchase.

Most Helpful Criticism

Great texture and hydration

Trammie

I suffer from eczema on my hands and fingers, I often need to avoid hand creams with harsh ingredients or scents. This hand cream feels comfortable and does not leave a texture of the skin.

  4. life saver

Been a favourite of mine for a while! Such a must have for those with problematic skin!
  5. amazing

    Raha

Another great product from the line. I found an improvement in my skin’s texture after regular use.
  6. Skin saviour!

    Andrea

This seriously saved my hands. I was developing dermatitis from frequent hand washing, and cleaning up after kids. I tried quite a few basic creams I already had, then after one application of this cream the itchy rash on my hands was 95% better. It was incredible, i think its the nianicimide ingredient that worked wonders. I've used it twice a day for years now. Highly recommend it. Texture is a little weird, like vaseline, but it rubs in and is worth it.
  7. Good to intensively moisturise hands at night

    Alexandra

I like this hand cream although I only use it at night. I find it a bit too thick to wear during the day- leaves a noticeable residue and is a little sticky, however, it does keep my hands super hydrated when I wear it at night (so I don't feel like I need to wear a hand cream during the day)
  8. great hand cream!

    Raha

I suffer from dry skin and this product keeps my hands very hydrated! I found an improvement in my skin’s texture after regular use. I've been using la roche-posay for a while now and I've never used their hand products before, great surprise!
  9. A thick balm

    Sophie

I'd describe this as more of a thick balm than a cream. It acts a barrier so much so that I find it doesn't absorb enough & leaves a residue on my hands that I'm really aware. It otherwise provides great hydration.
  10. A truly great quality hand cream

    Bettina

This cream along with neutrogena's norwegian formula hand cream are probably the best hand creams I've ever used. It's all moisturizing and nothing like those so called hand "creams" that are watery and just drips of your skin. To me a good quality cream should adhere well to your skin with a paste like consistency but most importantly last! You only need a tiny dab of this stuff to rub into your skin and it will last the elements, whether it's the whether it's the wind, the cold and water when you wash your hands :)
  11. So good

    Jessica

This is one of the best hand creams I’ve ever used, it’s so moisturising on my hands without feeling sticky and having any horrible smells
  12. decent

    Mel

This has slowly been helping my dry hands. I've only used it for a few days so I'm hopeful that the results will be more visible after longer use. Texture sort of reminded me of Vaseline
  13. Great for avoiding cracks

    Kat

I love this as a barrier cream for work or at home, I find it can be a little greasy upon inital application but unlike most creams like this it doesn't last long allowing you to still use your hands without everything slipping out!
  14. Perfect for hardworking hands.

    Cloe

Great hand cream for very dry hands, a little greasy, but worth it.
  15. Comfortable on skin

    Stephen

I was recommended La Roche-Posay by an AdoreBeauty online consultant for my sensitive, red & dry 51 year old skin.

Whenever I try a new range I like to get a selection of products to give it a sold try. This review covers the following La Roche-Posay products which I've used for 4 weeks now:

    - Rosaliac AR intense
    - Toleraine Ultra
    - Toleraine Ultra Nuit
    - Toleraine Sensitive
    - Toleraine Sensitive Riche
    - Toleraine Riche
    - Cicaplast Baume B5
    - Cicaplast Mains
    - Cicaplast Levres

First of all, what the heck are each of these products designed for?!!? Which do I use for what? They all claim to "soothe, hydrate, repair" or some combination thereof but the facial creams are hard to decipher. Sure "nuit" is a night time cream and the Rosaliac an antirosacea product but Toleraine Sensitive, Toleraine Sensitive Riche, Toleraine Riche?!!? Utterly confusing & the La Roche-Posay website helped not one bit.

The positives of these products are that they are not heavily fragranced, sit comfortably on my skin/lips/hands and soak into my skin quite well. I particularly like the lip balm & hand barrier cream. Both are good at providing protection without a heavy, greasy feel. The Toleraine Sensitive cream also soaks in particularly well.

Unfortunately most of the face creams live a shiny film which I find particularly annoying on my already often red face. Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer sound familiar?

The Rosaliac AR Intense lotion was in fact not intense enough to calm my skin when angry, red, sore & burning. It's just not thick & emollient enough. Similarly while the Ultra products are fragrance, alcohol, paraben & lanolin free, they're just not moisturising enough for my skin.

Conversely the Cicaplast Baume B5 cream must be meant for nappy rash as it reminds me of zinc oxide. It sits on top of the skin and leaves a white film over the skin.

None of the La Roche-Posay products aggravated or irritated my skin but aside from the hand & lip creams, none of them felt like they were doing anything to make my skin better. I'm ambivalent about recommending these products so I'd suggest you try them for yourself & see how you go.
  16. Really soothing

    Bianca

It has the consistency of petroleum jelly but no smell at all - which I really love! This is my go to hand cream right after I take off my gloves at work. It keeps my hand moisturised for a longer time and really helps calm my hand eczema
  17. LOVE

    Ashley

i have only been using this for the last week and its already made a difference on my dermatitis! Highly recommend for that purpose and just hydration, creates an almost barrier on your hands
  18. Helped dry winter hands

    Jessica

This hand cream helped my dry winter hands. I can occasionally be prone to dermatitis and this helped keep my hands moisturized to prevent this.
  19. Good at night

    Bella

I got this a couple of weeks ago, and at first I wan't a fan because I found the filmy barrier it leaves on your hands annoying. I swapped to using it at night only and couldn't be happier. I wake up with soft, hydrated hands, and love that it doesn't have a scent. You only need a pea sized amount for both hands so it's economical in the long run.
  20. It takes too long to sink in...

    Linda

I wanted to like this hand cream (it's expensive enough compared to others!) but, whilst I'm happy to use the tube up, I'll not buy it again. It is greasy feeling, as many barrier type creams are, but it takes a good 15-20 minutes for that feeling to go away, much longer than I'm prepared to wait. It does soothe, but again, no better than many other hand creams and it doesn't seem to last any longer - I reapply after any thorough hand wash.
  21. Just started but so far so good

    Grace

My hands have become rough and wrinkly from years of lack of caring. I don’t know of the long term use effects yet; but from the few days I’ve used it, it’s been great. It’s not greasy, my fingers are a little less rough and it makes my hands feel more cared for.
  22. Excellent

    Kirsty

After a winter where my hands have become increasingly chapped, this is a godsend. All I wanted was an effective, affordable hand cream that doesn't smell - of eucalyptus, citrus or friggin' pomegranate - and this delivers. La Roche-Posay has increasingly become my go-to brand for simple but good skincare.
  23. Perfect for cracked scaly hands

    G

Highly recommended for the demands of a household. I often have scaly dry hands from cleaning, cooking and generally looking after my house and kids so this hand cream is perfect for alleviating the pain and soreness I have when my hands are overworked and cracked / red / scaly.
  24. Excellent for the winter

    Lesley

This hand cream is amazing for the winter. It makes my dry hands feel moisturised and that feeling lasts all day. Will always repurchase this
  25. Saviour for dry hands!

    AlliB

This unassuming little tube has been the solution I have been looking for to help my dry/eczema prone hands. I have tried literally every hand cream out there and am so relieved to have found this one. It goes on easily, absorbs quickly, and most importantly keeps hands hydrated. I apply 3 or 4 times a day and my hands are smooth, supple and eczema free now. For anyone who suffers from dry skin, I recommend this brand highly.
  26. Very good

    Tanya

Very good hand cream which fits its purpose! I have very dry rough hand especially in the winter time and this helps in making joy hands super soft and smooth
  27. helps heal dehydrated skin

    Alicia

this really helped my hands when they were severely dehydrated and needing attention, works almost overnight! great product
  28. A good hand cream!

    Em

A good basic hand cream for when other fragranced creams are too harsh, great for when my hands are feeling dry and sore, sensitive or have cuts, this always does the job :)
  29. Really good

    Maddie

This really helped my hands after I had been using a harsh soap all week, my hands were really dry and sore and just horrible, and as I love the cicaplast baume b5 I decided to grab a tube of the hand cream and it really is an awesome hand cream, my hands feel soft and smooth and completely back to normal now
  30. Best Hand Cream!

    Bec

This cream is actually a miracle cream for me! My hands recently developed dry scaly patches on the tops and normal hand creams were not cutting it. I use just a small amount of this on the affected area, and my hands have never been softer. It is very thick almost like a vaseline so might be best to use just at night all over hands, or just as a spot treatment.
  31. Good quality

    lara

This hand cream is my favourite! It's extremely moisturising but does not leave much residue on surfaces when I touch them, which is a plus! The tube's size is perfect as it's easy to add to my handbag, and a little bit of this cream goes a long way! It creates a protective barrier on the skin and stops it from cracking, and helps to heal any dry patches on the skin!
  32. Good change from the usual

    Tegan

As a winter hand cream, or a treatment when needed this is perfect. It is thick and while it does take a little longer than most to be absorbed, it does wonders for dry hands and cuticles. I keep it beside my bed to apply at night, and wake up with lovely soft hands in the morning.
  33. Weird texture, not a fan

    Ahhhdrey

I bought this because my hand get really dry and cold in winter, and it wasn’t a great experience. It’s really slippery-feeling, not like a cream, more like a weird plastic coating on your hands. It didn’t really feel like it ‘soaked in’ for ages. I haven’t really used it since because I’ve got a bunch of other hand creams that do the job better.
  34. Helps dry hands

    Megan

I was on Accutane for the past 8 months and my hands and lips were so dry. This was one of the only hand creams that was able to help my hands from hurting.
  35. moisturising and not sticky

    Jade

best hand cream i've ever tried. i have eczema on my hands and all the other creams that effectively moisturise take a while to absorb, which isn't ideal if you need to wash your hands regularly.
