Cruelty-Free Hair Care Routine for Dry Hair

Repair & hydrate dry, damaged hair with a cruelty-free hair care routine from Adore Beauty staff member, Tash.

About the Author

I am part of the warehouse team at Adore Beauty. I have always had problem skin, with rosacea and dermatitis but since finding the right brand for me (La Roche-Posay) my skin has improved dramatically. My skin-care tip? Wear sun cream! It is so good at keeping your skin young looking! I wish I knew that when I was younger!

I like easy beauty routines, so for me the minimalist look is the best. I love keeping my hair soft and silky! This is my hair care routine to target hair that is dry or damaged.

I do like experimenting with new products and get excited when I find a good one! I love camping, swimming, walking and being with my family and friends... So the less time I spend in the bathroom the better!

What is your Hair Type and Concerns?

I have fine hair but lots of it. I try to disguise my grey hairs with highlights, which can make my hair weak and damaged. It is important to look after your hair to keep it looking its best!

How to Repair Damaged Hair and Avoid a Dry Scalp

I normally only wash my hair once a week because during the week I leave my hair up for work. This ensures my hair is producing its natural oils which is great to avoid a dry scalp. When I wear it up during the week I use my Shhh Silk Oversized Silk Scrunchie from Adore Beauty, as it seriously is THE best scrunchie I have ever had, and I have had a LOT of scrunchies! It is big with lots of elastication (is that a word?) and is so silky it doesn’t damage my hair like an average hair tie can do if you are wearing it up all the time. Then on the weekend I will wash my hair and use a treatment to protect it from any further damage. I can then style my hair for the weekend ahead! So my hair care routine targets hair that is dry or damaged, keeping my hair soft and silky.

STEP 1: Nourishing Shampoo for Dry Hair

STEP 1: Nourishing Shampoo for Dry Hair

I apply a small amount of ELEVEN Repair My Hair Nourishing Shampoo and wash around my hair line including underneath near my neck. I rinse this off and follow with a second wash. It lathers so well and feels like it is really deep cleaning my hair. I give it a good rinse to ensure all product is removed. It is perfect for use on hair damaged by chemical treatments, over-processing and heat styling. This shampoo helps to rebuild hair from within, and leaves it feeling stronger and healthier. It protects hair against heat damage up to 220 degrees while plant extracts and proteins strengthen and nourish, how awesome is that!

Step 2: Hydrating Conditioner for Dry, Damaged Hair

Step 2: Hydrating Conditioner for Dry, Damaged Hair

This conditioner is ultra nourishing and replenishes moisture making it is very hydrating and great for dry, brittle or damaged hair. I put a small amount of ELEVEN Hydrate My Hair Moisture Conditioner onto the palm of my hands and rub it together then smooth it on to my mid lengths and ends. I leave the conditioner to work its magic for a few minutes, then rinse rinse rinse! I rinse it heaps as I do not want any residue left behind, just silky soft hair. Its key ingredient is Avocado Oil which is naturally rich in fatty acids to coat, nourish and hydrate hair. This is serious business for keeping your locks looking and feeling their best!

  • And guess what? All ELEVEN Australia products are 100% recyclable, gotta love that!

Step 3: ELEVEN Miracle Treatment for Dry Hair

Step 3: ELEVEN Miracle Treatment for Dry Hair

I wrap my hair in a towel for a few minutes to soak up excess water until it is just damp. I then use this amazing product called ELEVEN Miracle Hair Treatment. I put a pea sized amount into my hands and smooth it on to the mid lengths and ends. It makes my hair strong and leaves it feeling smooth. It controls frizz and prevents split ends, also helping to detangle it and protect from heat. I then leave my hair to dry naturally. If I want to blow dry it and straighten it then I will only begin to blow dry when it is almost dry. I just don’t want to put too much heat and stress on to my hair if I can help it. And that’s it! How easy is that!

This stuff is the best! I discovered the shampoo and conditioner after using this hair treatment, I loved it so much I wanted to try the rest of the ELEVEN range.
