Didn't realise a hairbrush could make a difference

Savannah

Ok seriously, I thought a hair brush was a hairbrush until I decided to read the reviews on brushes like this. It was legit the most amount of money I was going to be spending on a hairbrush ever! So I bought this and chose the size under guidance of my hairdresser. I have just below shoulder hair that is growing out. It is fine hair but thick as in lots of it. This brush legitimately helped me get even closer to getting that hairdresser blow wave feel and look. It'm now converted.
  1. Disappointed

    Laura

I purchased the EVO Hank 43 ceramic brush after reading the reviews. I was upgrading my blowdry brush from a very old Tony & Guy ceramic brush and I wish I hadn't thrown that one away so quickly.
The Hank brush looks great and feel great when holding it in your hand to style. Massive downside is that the bristles are so spaced apart that there is little grip to the hair. The ceramic barrel helps to dry hair quickly however with no grip I can't stretch the hair to straightener it and I'm left with fluffy hair, with a lot of volume and I have to go over with the straightener, something that I was trying to avoid.

  3. Love the size, not sure on the plastic bristles

    EK

Great size for creating volume and blow drying, nice even heat when using a blowdryer but I am not sure about the plastic bristles I actually think I've had much more breakage than ordinary since I started using this brush about 5 months ago. I am going to purchase the boar bristle version which I think is better for your hair and isn't as harsh
  4. helps alot!

    shiraz

I have quite fine hair and am always looking to create volume! this definitely helps with that process, bristles are also not too hard on the hair/scalp.
  5. Brush

    Anita

This is a really nice brush. Gives me a lot more volume.
  6. Perfect for soft, tousled waves in long hair

    Kishlette

I was looking to upgrade my brushes and, since I have fine hair, I wanted to get brushes to help me get a better blow dry. I was drawn to the Evo line because they seemed to be good quality, had a variety of different brushes and combs and are just plain pretty for a coordinated set!
can't believe the difference I get from these ceramic vented brushes over a full boar-bristle brush! I can blow dry my hair in so less time and get twice the volume. And, the finish looks like I've just come out of a salon! You don't have as much grip as boar bristle, obviously, but this brush is good enough quality that you still get a lot of shine. I can get more than enough tension for a good blow wave. I own all the Hank brushes and I like using them all on different sections to give a very natural look.
I've not tried other ceramic brushes so I can't say how they compare, but the Hank line are very sturdy and well constructed, with no part of the brush catching or pulling. They tick all the boxes in terms of what my research said was important - they're ceramic, ionic bristles, not too heavy, have a sectioning pick, comfortable handle, etc.
The Hank 43 is great to get soft, tousled waves through my long hair. Easy to work with. Highly recommended for medium and long hair.
  7. Brush works beautifully and looks fantastic

    Annabelle

I love this brush! It's very lightweight, runs through my hair beautifully and the ceramic does an excellent job of heating up when blow-drying but not burning my hair.
  8. Beautiful brush but didn't deliver

    Tash

This brush looks beautiful and was packaged beautifully too.
HOWEVER ... the bristles are very bendy and spaced out so they provide very little grip when trying to do a blow wave ... which is what I bought the brush for! I can see how the brush would work if you wanted to blow-dry your hair straight, as it separates your hair and dries it faster with the ceramic barrel, but it really doesn't cut it - especially for the price - if you want to use it for a blow wave.
  9. Really good brush - works well for straightening fine hair

    Meg

I bought this brush to use when straightening my hair with the blowdryer. The ceramic barrel works perfectly for this and the wooden handle is really nice to hold. I have fine hair so it works well with my hair without making it too fluffy.
  10. Great for blow drying medium length hair

    Carmen

I find this brush perfect for blow trying my medium length hair (2 inches below my shoulders). I wouldn't want to use this size brush on longer or very thick hair as I don't think it's big enough.

The bristles on my last radial brush (not evo brand) started splitting and would pull my hair out so I had to find a replacement. I've had this brush almost 5 months and it's still like brand new.
