Most Helpful Positive

One of the best value for money brush cleaners on the market
One of the best value for money brush shampoos on the market.

Excellent for getting brushes clean, doesn't make any bristles fall out and I feel like it gets even the most stubborn stains out of eyeshadow brushes.

You don't need to use a lot to get the job done.

Most Helpful Criticism

For how cheap it is its okay
Does an okay job. Sometimes I use this and other times just a face cleanser I didn't really like. This was the first brush shampoo I've ever had so will be interesting to see how others compare once I finally finish it.

  2. Great

I love this product, my only problem is the shape of the bottle! It is not a typical cylinder shaped bottle, it is a square bottle. This makes it difficult to get the product out and makes it feel quite awkward.
  3. Great

I got this like a month or so ago and I love it. I clean then almost every Sunday. My brush are doing great. I can’t recommend it enough. I also recommend getting the cleaning brush glove it makes it so much easier to clean them.

  5. pretty good for the price

I only use my brushes for powder and this shampoo does get powder off my brushes pretty easily. I'm not sure if it'd do as good a job with foundation. The only annoying thing is the bottle - it is really hard to squeeze product out.
  6. It’s okay but wouldn’t recommend

It cleans my brushes but it must be gentle because it takes a few washes to get everything out. It’s really difficult to squeeze because of the square shape. I got it on sale so I don’t mind but wouldn’t repurchase
  7. Disappointed

This was a little disappointing. It didn't clean my brushes very well as there was still a lot of product in the brushes after washing with this shampoo a number of times. I had to was them again with another brush cleaner to remove the residual product still in the brushes. I expected more from this as elf products are typically high quality even though they are budget friendly.
  8. So basic

This is just soap. It would be cheaper and more effective to use regular shampoo on my brushes. This was hard to squeeze out of the container and did not remove much of the makeup from my brushes.
  9. Ok..

This is a okish cleaner.. doesn't do the best job but gets some of the products out.
  10. Ok cleaner

It cleaned my brushes ok, but the product was hard to squeeze out. Good for a budget brush cleaner but was not amazing.
  11. cheap but doesnt work on thick foundation brushes

works for eye shadow brushes where the pigment is from dry shadows, but found it didnt really work for my foundation brush as it isnt strong enough and took a few washes but its cheap and a good thing to have as a makeup artist to ensure cleanliness and hygeine
  12. brush cleanser

This is a very good affordable brush shampoo from ELF. I like to keep my makeup brushes as clean as possible so when I saw this & the price I just had to try it.

This is a mild cleansing fluid & I find it soaps up quite like a shower gel or mild shampoo. It gets quite foamy. The cleansing fluid is easy to wash through the brushes & doesn't damage the bristles or shape. The product does works decently on getting my makeup brushes clean- I find the shampoo cleans synthetic brushes better over natural ones. I personally find I have to use a few rinses /shampoos through some of my natural brushes to really get them clean.

The product has a slight fragrance- I wouldn't call it fragrance free. Personally I can smell the fragrance & I do notice it on my brushes. I do not notice any irritation from this on my face though & its not offensive. The brush shampoo does contain antibacterial agents as well to keep the brushes free of bacteria.

    I dislike the bottle.

While the bottle is larger & you do have to use quite a lot of product to get a good clean the bottle is a square shape which can be difficult to squeeze & its difficult to get the shampoo out of the bottle from time to time. The flip top lid does keep the shampoo from squirting out though. It can be really difficult but for the price its something I can live with.
