They say good things come in small packages...
But you know what's better?
When very good travel-size fragrances finally launch as affordable full-size scents!
I'm talking about the new Glasshouse perfumes.
You know, the ones you used to only be able to buy in convenient mini fragrance vials that always ran out too soon for my liking.
If you love the best-selling Glasshouse Fragrances candles and travel scents Midnight in Milan, Kyoto in Bloom and Forever Florence, you can now find them in beautiful full-size art deco glass bottles.
At $99.95 for 50ml and $139 for 100ml, they're bold, distinctive fine fragrances that won't make your bank account weep.
A little goes a long way, too. One spritz will last for hours, making them even more of a steal.
Plus, Glasshouse products aren't tested on animals, are free from parabens, PEGS and animal by-products, and can be considered as vegan-friendly.
But even more exciting is the brand's newest perfume, A Tahaa Affair Devotion.
Not a typo.
There is indeed a shiny new eau de parfum (EDP) version of the intoxicatingly-good Tahaa candle that always sells out.
This all sounds brilliant, but what do these new Glasshouse Fragrances perfumes really smell like?
Short of being able to pass you a fragrance tester through your device, keep scrolling for my Glasshouse perfume reviews...
*Including the one people think is very similar to a wildly expensive cult fragrance.
1. Glasshouse Fragrances A Tahaa Affair Devotion.

What:
A Tahaa Affair Devotion EDP is a rich and complex gourmand fragrance with notes of salted butterscotch, jasmine, sandalwood and cedar.
I'm salivating already.
Smells like:
Top Notes: Sweet Sugar Cane, Coconut Water, Sea Salt.
Middle Notes: Jasmine Sambac, Vanilla Orchid, Polynesian Hibiscus, Tahitian Foliage.
Base Notes: Caramel Butterscotch, Black Amber, Sun Dried Driftwood, Cedarwood.
My A Tahaa Affair Devotion review:
As soon as I heard Glasshouse Fragrances were turning their cult Tahaa candle into a perfume, I knew The People would lose it.
Like the original candle, the A Tahaa Affair Devotion fragrance is sweet and tangy and a little bit salty.
Kind of like a tropical rum cocktail or the feeling of dancing on a warm night on an island holiday (a gal can dream, right?).
At first, it's a lot. But the candy-like headiness dries down to a more sophisticated scent, as if you'd been burning the Tahaa candle in another room of the house.
P.S. You didn't hear it from me, but anecdotally, word is men especially love this Tahaa scent... do with that info what you will.

2. Glasshouse Fragrances Midnight in Milan.

What:
A bold, unisex chypre fragrance that's woodsy and mossy, but floral and citrussy, all at the same time.
Oh, and people on TikTok reckon it's an affordable dupe for the very luxe, very expensive (like, $728 for 100ml expensive) Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 cult favourite.
Smells like:
Top Notes: Saffron, Blackcurrant.
Middle Notes: Rose, Jasmine, Ambergris.
Base Notes: Moss, Dry Amber, Maltol, Musk, Cedar.
My Midnight in Milan review:
If you've been hoarding the mini vials of Midnight in Milan for years, you can finally get this viral fragrance in a full-size eau de parfum.
This one's probably my favourite of the four new Glasshouse perfumes.
Even though it smells sweet in the beginning, it simmers down to something warmer and sensual.
Now for the $728 question... is Midnight in Milan an affordable dupe for Baccarat Rouge?
Look. True Baccarat Rouge fans won't be convinced.
But the key to enjoying any proclaimed dupe is managing your expectations because it's just that - a dupe.
Our in-house fragrance aficionados on the Adore Customer Experience team confirmed they've smelt both, and feel Midnight in Milan is a lot more floral, citrus and rose-forward, especially when you first spray it.
That said, it's certainly in the same realm. You'll still get a whiff of the sweet warmth Baccarat Rouge is known for once it settles.
And honestly, for a fraction of the price, you've gotta be happy with that.

3. Glasshouse Fragrances Kyoto in Bloom.

What:
This fragrance is a softer, more rounded version of the very lovely Kyoto in Bloom candle.
It's warm, sweet, musky and rich, with a hint of powder and citrus.
Smells like:
Top Notes: Pineapple, Citrus, Green, Cream.
Middle Notes: Camellia, Orris, Lotus, Clover.
Base Notes: Sandalwood, Amber, Patchouli, Musk, Vanilla, Tonka Bean.
My Kyoto in Bloom review:
As the name suggests, this ambery fragrance really does smell like a city in the bloom of spring.
Or lounging on a comfy deck chair in a backyard full of flowers, with your beverage of choice in hand and the afternoon sun on your face. (Wearing a beautiful broad-brimmed hat and SPF 50+, of course.)
Think: Sweet white florals and hints of fresh, juicy citrus fruits, combined with the warmth of sandalwood and vanilla.

4. Glasshouse Fragrances Forever Florence.

What:
A romantic floral fragrance with notes of peony, lily and musk.
Smells like:
Top Notes: Peach, Pear, Citrus.
Middle Notes: Jasmine, Heliotrope, Peony-Rose, Lily.
Base Notes: Musk, Amber, Sandalwood.
My Forever Florence review:
Hands down, this one's for the sweet fragrance fiends out there.
I'd describe it as being a traditional sweet, slightly aquatic scent that's deeply nostalgic.
A grown up version of
my favourite high school fragrances, if you will.
One spritz takes me right back to rummaging through my mum's perfumes in her wardrobe, or spending hours roaming department store fragrance halls.
It wouldn't be my everyday signature scent, but it's a timeless choice that sweet fragrance fans will adore.
