Hello, you beautiful angels! You may not have come across my face yet, but I bet you’ve heard my voice – I’m currently Beauty IQ: Uncensored’s summer podcast co-host, so I’ve been filling your ears for the past few months – usually laughing at something Hannah’s said or banging on about my eyelid eczema.

Since joining the podcast, I’ve revisited some of my all-time beauty favourites and have also been discovering a few brand-new obsessions.

It’s been a ride!

I love trying out new stuff, it’s what I adore about beauty – there is always a new innovation or secret sleeper hit waiting to be uncovered by adding to cart.

To go deeper on some of my podcast faves, I decided to write this article telling you once again why I love, love, love this mix of newbies and long-time fan faves.

1. Viviology Vitamin C Serum.

What: Viviology Vitamin C Serum 30mL

I’ve always loved a Vitamin C serum in my skincare routine.

While I’m definitely more on the lazy side when it comes to beauty, there are some skincare additions I’ve made over the years that have just stuck.

Vit C is one of them. While I’m always partial to SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic, the price point gets me good sometimes… and then I found this new favourite.

The Viviology Vitamin C Serum has a similar texture to Skinceuticals C E Ferulic, and is also a blend of 15% L-Ascorbic Acid, plus 1% Ferulic Acid and 0.1% Vitamin E.

It helps defend skin against free radical damage throughout the day, evens out skin tone and adds brightness.

It sits so well under makeup, and while it’s a little stinky (a Vitamin C serum trait), it’s not overpoweringly so.

Most importantly, it doesn’t seem to upset my problematic skin type. Is she sensitive Sensitised? Just in a bad mood? I’ll never know.

2. CLOUD NINE The Curling Wand.

What: CLOUD NINE The Curling Wand

I was so surprised to fall in love with Cloud Nine’s The Curling Wand!

I’ve been a committed straightener-curls girlie forever and always found curling wands fiddly and scalp-burny.

But it seems they’ve come a long way since the last time I tried them, and this curling wand is at the top of the game.

It heats up fast, holds heat well and is easy to manouvre as you add your curls, thanks to a lengthy cord and 360-degree swivel base.

But, of course, the real wow factor for me came from the results.

Mermaid waves! Natural-looking finish! I’ve never had the same results from doing my straightener curls.

3. La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5+

What: La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5+ Balm

I put so much La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 on my face when it’s in terror-mode, I look like a ghost. I’ll have to show you a picture sometime.

It’s a staple on my beauty shelf for when my eyelid eczema flares up or when my skin feels dry and irritated.

When I learned that La Roche-Posay had introduced a serum version into its Cicaplast collection, La Roche-Posay Cicaplast B5 Serum, I had to try it – and I wasn’t disappointed.

It’s a gel texture that is applied via a dropper and gives instant soothing relief to irritated skin.

It’s both nourishing and hydrating, with 10% Vitamin B5 to help reduce the appearance of redness and skin sensitivity.

I use it in my morning routine when my skin is being the worst, and it’s helped so many times!

4. ELEVEN Australia I Want Body Volume Powder.

What: ELEVEN I Want Body Volume Powder

I am obsessed with the ‘70s, and that obsession extends to my hair.

Around six years ago, I got a shaggy fringe haircut and have never looked back.

One way I like to style my hair is to add waves and then ramp up the texture so I look like a rock star.

I want volume, grit and a style that I can easily scrunch back into full vibes on a night out, and I find volume powders are key for this.

I have a few I love, but the Eleven Australia I Want Body Volume Powder is on current rotation.

It’s easy to use – just puff the nozzle at your roots, and I like to add a little to mid-lengths to create piecey layers, too.

The style stays put all night, and as I get more confident (after a few savvy b’s), I’ll manipulate it with a little scrunch and shake to make it even more textured and voluminous.

It is a punish to wash out (you’ll need a clarifying or detox shampoo!), but that just shows how effective it is, right?

5. K18 Leave-In Molecular Repair Mask.

What: K18 Leave-In Molecular Repair Mask 50ml

I don’t know if I mentioned this specifically as a Product I Didn’t Know I Needed, but I have definitely brought it up a few times on Beauty IQ – in fact, I think Hannah and I are on our way to boring you with how much we both love it.

We have really similar hair that’s prone to breakage, mine because I am always heat-styling it, Hannah because she’s just gone blonder. This mask has helped us both!

Basically, the K18 Leave-In Molecular Repair Mask is both a godsend for lazy beauty gals (me) and for anyone with hair in desperate need of TLC.

It uses bioactive peptides and keratin to restore damaged strands, and while it’s a leave-in formula, it doesn’t make your hair feel stringy or greasy.

I love it because a) it just works, I’ve never had softer, stronger strands, and also because b) it’s applied after shampooing, so I spend less time in the shower washing my long, thick hair.

Win, win.

6. L'Oreal Paris Paradise Mascara - Black.

What: L'Oreal Paris Paradise Mascara - Black

I am a sucker for Maybelline and L’Oreal Paris mascaras. A SUCKER.

Every time they release a new one, I’m on it.

I don’t love them all, but I do love a lot of them, and the L’Oreal Paris Lash Paradise Mascara is a more recent discovery.

This is a volumising mascara for people who don’t like clumps or flakes. I can’t explain it, but it just sticks to lashes as you swipe. It doesn’t apply all chunky, or too thinly.

It’s the perfect balance, lengthening and volumising in just a few glides.

It’s my current go-to mascara, especially for daytime wear – sometimes, at night, a gal just wants cakey, clumpy lashes (well, this girl does when she pretends she’s Blondie).

So there you have it! My current favies. Be sure to listen to Beauty IQ: Uncensored this week for more fresh finds, plus you’ll probably hear about my eyelid eczema (again).
