I've been a bit of a germophobe my whole life. I've always had a hand sanitiser on my desk, in my handbag and in the console of my car - because if you actually think about all the germs on the petrol bowser, the trolley handle or the bathroom door at work, it's enough to make you shudder a little bit.
So, when hand sanitiser unexpectedly became the most in demand item aside from toilet paper, I happened to already have a supply. But finding a hand sanitiser that doesn't smell like pure alcohol, or dry out your hands from continuous use, is a task in itself.
That's where
Sensori + comes in.
What's Different About The Sensori + Hand Sanitiser?
Given that we're
seeing a rise in very dry hands and conditions like dermatitis and eczema from increased hand washing and sanitising, I asked Creative Director of
Sensori +,
Ross Andrewartha, what sets this products apart from the rest.
"What makes the Sensori + formula so unique is that we use 75 per cent sugarcane distilled alcohol, which is all natural and vegan. It also contains aloe vera extract and vegetable oil-derived glycerin which means your hands stay nice and hydrated all day, even with regular sanitising," says Ross.
Now, I know what you're thinking - if it's 'natural', is it actually going to kill bacteria? The answer is yes.
"75 per cent sugarcane distilled alcohol meets World Health Organization recommended standards for keeping hand hygiene. Our hydrating hand sanitiser formula kills 99.9% bacteria on skin's surface, leaving hands clean, soft and fresh," explains Ross.
Oh, and I should mention - these hand sanitisers are available in a 30ml and 100ml size.
Now For The Scent...
As I mentioned above, getting your hands on a sanitiser that doesn't smell like a brewery can be tricky, but I'm not mucking around when I say this is the best-smelling hand sanitiser I've come across. I couldn't quite put my finger on what in reminded me of, so I asked Ross to explain.
"Inspired by the citrus capital of Australia in Queensland -
Gayndah Orchard paints a beautiful picture of this sunny Queensland town. A charming memory of a Sunday stroll through the citrus orchards of Gayndah, recreated by the exquisite blend of hand cold-pressed bergamot oil, delicate neroli and lingering cedarwood notes, it's refreshing and zesty."
"The other fragrance,
Wiruna Night, brings you respite from hectic city lights with a blend of ginger, balanced with a touch of citrus and calming notes of native sandalwood. Experience a midnight escape to a pitch-black night sky under a million stars."
If that explanation doesn't illustrate some sort of fragrance association for you, I don't know what will.
But, There's More Than Hand Sanitisers
Before the sanitisers came along,
Sensori + were known for their beautifully fragranced room mists and candles inspired by Australian landscapes and territories. So if you're picking up a hand sanny, and you want to add another little treat to your cart, what should it be?
According to Ross (who's fully immersed in the range), it's the
Air Detoxifying Mists that hit the top of his list.
"I truly believe there is nothing else like this on the market. My favourite
Air Detoxifying Mist is Macedon Trail which is inspired by the vibrant autumn landscape in Victoria’s stunning Macedon Ranges".
The unique formula of these room mists works to decompose airborne toxins while neutralising odour, rather than simply masking an unfavourable scent. And Ross tells me the unscented version is amazing for mums to use at home.
