I have tried soooo many primers in my time and have come to realise that I am super fussy with not only how they sit on the skin but also with how they interact with the makeup applied afterwards.
This is a silicone-free, hydrating primer that aims to smooth the skin whilst offering long-lasting comfort and extended makeup wear time.
I can confirm, this primer delivers on every single one of its promises, but first, let’s cover some quick facts:

My NYX Professional Makeup Marshmellow Smoothing Primer review:
Firstly I love the packaging.
It is a push pump-style cylinder that disperses just the right amount of primer every time (around a pea size amount is perfect).
The second thing I quickly realised I loved was the subtle marshmallow scent.
For anyone who gets a little weary on fragranced makeup products, don’t let that put you off.
The scent doesn’t linger on the skin for the rest of the wear time but instead creates a nice aroma whilst applying the primer.
Another added bonus is this primer’s versatility.
The mousse-like texture lends itself perfectly to all skin types as the primer works to hydrate the skin without leaving any shiny residue post-application.
Unlike other blurring primers, the silicone-free formula felt super light and undetectable on the skin, making it the perfect primer for anyone who wants their foundation to glide right on.
After applying the primer I definitely felt that my skin looked hydrated and awake, with any areas of texture appearing much smoother.
Once my makeup was fully applied, it was time to go in with the NYX Professional Makeup Dewy Setting Spray.
