Sauvage - the name has now long been associated with DIOR and what’s more, Parisian chic!
Meaning wild or untamed, Sauvage has quickly become a global icon.
As the self-proclaimed Luxury Correspondent for Adore, it’s only natural that I volunteered to road-test the full Sauvage collection - more than just fragrance, the collection now covers skincare and body products.
Scented extensions of renowned fragrances (otherwise known as extra products in the fragrance collection) have been a thing in beauty for years.
Typically, if you love the fragrance, it’s easy enough to add on a body lotion or shower gel.
I won’t lie, these aren’t usually at the top of my list as they always feel… well… a bit lacklustre. So call me dubious when the DIOR delivery arrived.
Spoiler alert: these bougie products are quickly climbing to the top of the list in my next Adore staff order.
Read on to discover why this iconic scent is now all over my bathroom!
DIOR Sauvage Fragrances.
Sauvage as we know it was born from a decades-old fragrance called Eau Sauvage - possibly something you remember seeing on your dad’s bedside cabinet.
Since 2015, Sauvage has topped best-selling fragrance lists and you’ve likely smelled it before.
I find it’s always my go-to date night fragrance as I feel ultra sexy wearing it. You need that sort of confidence on a first date, I say!
The fragrance itself is a distant cousin to its namesake, with some similar aromas.
For all of us non-perfumers, it really is a stark contrast with top notes of pepper and Calabrian bergamot with lavender, vetiver and patchouli in the heart, rounding out with cedar in the base.
All of this translates to a light yet sensual fragrance that sweeps easily between day and night, date night and a night out on the town.
As you move through the scents from EDT to EDP, Parfum and Elixir, you’ll find an aroma that climbs in intensity and quite frankly, gets sexier and more sensual.
My advice here is to go for the DIOR Sauvage Parfum 100ml or the DIOR Sauvage Elixir 100ml if you like a headier or heavier scent that lingers.
The DIOR Sauvage Eau de Toilette 100ml and the DIOR Sauvage Eau de Parfum 100ml are both lighter, perfect for a day at the office or a summer night out - they’re not overpowering and will surely see many compliments paid.
Above all else, these bottles are stunning and are sure to impress on looks alone.
If you’re obsessed with packaging like me, you will also appreciate the magnetic cap on all Sauvage fragrances.
This simple addition is actually sooo good - no more incidents of your bag smelling like a garden after being doused in fragrance from the cap falling off in your bag.
In more recent years, the Sauvage collection has expanded to products beyond just fragrance or cologne and now includes a shaving gel, shower gel, cleansers and more.
Let’s take a closer look.
