I am in my 60's and assumed the enlarged pores around my nose were something I had to live with, which has in the past been dealt with by facial steaming and masks - neither of which solved the issue. Unbelievably, I noticed the pores to have shrunk considerably after very few applications with salicylic acid so much so that I dont really need to steam at all. I am applying it to a particularly stubborn blackhead and it does appear to look as though it is being drawn out to the surface - slowly however. For enlarged pores - BRILLIANT!!

A must for blemish-prone skinI'm not new to The Ordinary, having just bought my third bottle of Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and also being on my third tube of Natural Moisturizing Factors +HA, which have been doing a great job helping to keep my very oily, blemish-prone skin in check. During a Q&A with Nicola Kilner from The Ordinary on the adore beauty forum, she recommended I add the Salicylic Acid 2% solution to my routine, and it being such amazing value like the rest of the range, I figured I didn't have anything to lose.
I started using it (a small amount spread evenly over my cheeks, chin, nose and forehead) once every second night after cleansing and toning then following with the Natural Moisturizing Factors +HA to ensure my skin didn't react to it, and after doing that for about a week without any redness, irritation or dryness, I've started using it every night and will do for around a week to really try and clear my skin before going back to using it every second night. Using the Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% every morning and evening prior to this has already helped remove gunk from my pores and help with the inflammation and congestion along my jawline, but the addition of the salicylic acid has definitely helped improve my skin even further. For starters, my skin feels AMAZING, it's incredibly soft and smooth. I've also noticed a further reduction in the congestion along my jawline (which includes persistent cystic acne I've had for years), and my skin hasn't purged anywhere near as much as I'd expected, as I've only had a few new blemishes appear, and they're being dealt with quickly too. If you have blemish-prone skin, I highly recommend giving this a try, and at under $9 you really can't lose.
Perfect for poresI've been using this for a month now and it's definitely helped clear my enlarged pores I got from sun damage. I started off using this twice daily for two weeks then reduced to only in the mornings. I use the product all over my face, excluding the delicate areas. I once tried the spot treatment mentioned on the directions but got a blister from it.
5 StarsPerfect. Does as it says it will. I usually only go for higher end skin care and make up as I like to feel a tad luxurious and treat myself, however the lovely packaging combined with this ridiculously low price point is a huge bonus! I love that this product has just one main ingredient and isn't another serum that includes salicylic acid or similar.
LifesaverThis stuff seriously saved me. I had acne in my teens but when I turned 20 it cleared up a bit, the odd spot but nothing more. But since last year or the year before (can't even remember now) it's been way worse and I've been dealing with sore and super stubborn acne on my lower face - chin, jawline, top lip - a combination of whiteheads and sometimes deep, huge, sore lumps. I've been using this, just applying a couple of drops' worth over all the affected areas for about 2 weeks now. I broke out really badly in the first week while my skin was purging, and then it started to get better. For the first time in 2 years my skin is finally clearing. I've tried loads of stuff before - retinol, benzoyl peroxide etc and nothing really worked to keep the acne away. I finally feel like I can go back to wearing sheer foundation and tinted moisturiser rather than the full coverage (that I hate) I've been wearing for the past 2 years.
