Vitamin C

This is my first time using vitamin c and I have been impressed. I started using this at night, a few times a week to ease my skin in to it (sensitive skin, post acne) which no negative effects. The consistency is watery, so I find I only have to use the tiniest amount (2 drops) to cover my face. After reading other reviews and information on vitamin c products, I think this is the key. My skin is noticeably softer and toned after use. My left over acne scars are fading very quick. I will definitely keep using.

Do not use too often

As with all Ordinary products the texture is great and not much is needed for each application. I found this version of ascorbic acid on my skin a little sensitive. I first used it 3 alternate nights in a row and my face became slightly red and the skin a little scaly. I have never been sensitive to any products before. The instructions did say to use no more than 3 days in a week. It took a week without it to gradually going back to normal. I then tried it again but now I am only using it every third day and all is well. So BECAREFUL when you start on this! Also use very minimally.

  2. Happy with this

    Bonnie

I haven't used many topical vitamin C products before, but am happy with this one enough to have used it ( mostly) twice a day for over a year now. It applies well and I think it does make my skin look a little less dull. Hopefully it helps my sunscreen protect my skin from UV damage.

This is my first run at a vitamin c serum, so don't have much to compare it with. The product definitely works, although it does take a couple weeks to see the difference.
As many commenters pointed out, the product definitely feels very oily and I've found it a little hard to work out how to put it on without using too much, as each drop sort of absorbs into the skin right away. In the end ...

I love the ordinary. This makes my skin more even, smooth, toned, and soft! An amazing product for the price and lasted a fair while considering the size of the bottle!
  6. Quality Product at good price.

Having tried many different (and expensive!) ascorbic acid products for my pigmentation I was extremely happy to come across this no frills product.
Containing the exactly same ingredients as my $130 previous product there was no hesitation in trying.
Yes the solution has an oily feel but I’ve found allowing a few minutes before applying moisturiser gives it enough time to sink in bu...

  7. Great as an Ascorbic Acid alternative

I have dry sensitive skin. It is easily irritated so I have to be careful what I put on my face. I use to use DE vitamin C day serum, but found it too strong for my skin. I found the ethylated Ascorbic Acid to be far less irritating. I currently use it at night, once every three days. It fits in between my night of Retinoid and the night of lactic acid. I would use it during the day, but it felt t...

I have been using The Ordinary Ethylated Ascorbic Acid 15% for a few weeks now. When applying it to my skin, it feels oily. However, it does dry and makes my skin feel soft, hydrated and glowing. I will definitely buy this product again - I am very happy with this purchase.
  9. Unpleasant to use

    Susie

I love The Ordinary and use several of their products. I wanted to love this as well, but sadly don’t. It feels a little like putting a dry oil on your face, even though it’s oil-free. My skin feels as though it’s being smothered in plastic and can’t breathe with this on - not a very pleasant sensation. I gave it to my mum to try (in the hopes I could give it to her) but she also didn’t like it (i...
