To me there is no one definition of Beauty. It differs depending on where you are and what you're experiencing.

Regardless, it's a way we feel and the confidence it gives when it hits that makes chasing beauty so very rewarding.

This Weleda routine is all about hydration, moisture and barrier repair.

To me, hydrating skin care products work to give the layers of your skin the important ingredients it needs to maintain a smooth, supple and plumped feeling.

And that is precisely what Weleda Skin Food, Weleda Pomegranate Firming Facial Oil and the Weleda Pomegranate Firming Eye Cream, do.

The ingredients in these products work by allowing the skin to hold on to its natural water content while fortifying against further moisture loss.

Here's How to Hydrate Your Skin with Weleda Skin Food

Firstly, the key to all good skin routines is to pull your hair back. Get a hair tie/headband and get ready for the routine that is to come.

1. Hydrating skin care routine

What I recommend doing to keep your skin hydrated and prep for this routine is - cleanse your skin, mist it, apply your skincare serums from the highest to lowest water content.

Then, grab your Weleda Pomegranate Firming Eye Cream and apply it on your expression lines. Slightly pat it into the skin.

What plumps the skin?

Grab your Weleda Skin Food and massage it into your skin in an upwards motion. Don’t over massage it; just pull it upwards a few times and then let it do its thing.

You don’t need to add any serums after the skin food, it all needs to go under it. Skin Food is too thick for anything to penetrate through it.

Next, apply your Weleda Pomegranate Firming Facial Oil over the top.

If it’s the daytime, focus on adding more to the areas you want to see more glow under your makeup.

I like adding a little to the tip of my ring fingers and running it along my cheekbone as it really helps bring out the glow in that area.

If it's night, add it all over the skin. You can also take a clean spoolie or disposable Mascara Wand and apply the oil to your lashes and eyebrow.

This helps to soften and protect our hair follicles, so it's a really great technique to fit in at night.

2. How to use Skin Food as a mask

If your skin feels tight, sore, red, rough, annoyed, chapped or just in need of some really quick comfort, Weleda Skin Food works incredibly as a mask.

A face mask to some isn’t an essential part of their skincare routine. Regardless, I am a strong believer in that even if your skin generally looks fantastic, a face mask is still very useful, especially if your skin is looking and feeling less than optimal.

That said, it doesn't have to be labelled as a 'mask' for it to be one.

Using Weleda skin food as a mask: Start by cleansing your face, dampen it slightly and apply a thick layer with a spatula.

To your brows and lashes add a bit of the Weleda Pomegranate Firming Facial Oil with a clean spoolie or disposable Mascara Wand.

This works as a mask on for the hair and the hair follicles because the oil contains fatty acids as well as vitamins, which all work to soften, moisturise, repair, and protect them.

Allow it all to do its thing for about 15-45 minutes and then remove the excess off with a warm towel.

I would recommend doing the masking technique to your decolletage because it's far too close to the face to let go.

You can then follow with your night/day routine as needed.

3. Hydrating skin care for the body

Is your body feeling a bit dry and dehydrated too? Make sure to shower, and immediately moisturise with the Weleda Skin Food Body Butter.

If you feel like you need extra care, dampen your body with a towel and apply Weleda Skin Food Body Butter all over as a body mask. Leave it on for about 30 minutes and shower afterwards.

You will feel like a silky angel.

How do I keep my skin hydrated?

Here are a few of my beauty tips that I rely on for keeping my skin hydrated and protected.

  • SPF is your BFF. If anyone tells you otherwise, they’re trying to ruin your skin. Get one that’s SPF 30 and over. Remember, SPF is only one part of sun protection! Always seek shade, and wear sunnies, a hat and protective clothing. Use sufficient sunscreen for all unprotected areas and reapply sunscreen as directed. Frequent re-application or use in accordance with directions is required for effective sun protection. Always read the label. Prolonged high-risk sun exposure should be avoided.

  • Cleanse every night & day like your life depends on it. Your skincare won't work if it can't reach your skin through the dirt.

  • Stay hydrated - seriously, just get it in you. Trust me your skin will thank you for it.

  • Use your eye products on your neck and smile lines. Why? Cause it works.

  • Your skin is the first thing anyone sees. Love it, spend on it, be kind to it, care for it.
