2. Avoid direct sunshine during the brightest time of day.
Although UVB light doesn't penetrate skin as deeply as UVA does, UVB causes sunburn, which is quickly followed by visible inflammation. Inflammation helps our bodies repair damage, but too much inflammation is a source of stress. In this way, UVB light can contribute towards skin ageing.
UVB light varies in intensity according to the time of day. The most dangerous period for UV exposure is between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. This four-hour bracket is best avoided to keep skin healthy and youthful-looking.
