A comforting cleanser for skin that hates cleansers
First, a confession: I don't really use cleanser anymore, unless it's a micellar cleanser or a cleansing oil. I still double cleanse, it's just usually micellar then cleansing oil, or two rounds of cleansing oil. So for me, I used this cleanser as a second step in place of a cleansing oil.

The reason I stick to cleansing oils is that I feel even cream cleansers can have surfactants that are just a bit too harsh for me, and my general rule is to protect the skin barrier at all costs.

That said...

I'm really shocked at how nice this cleanser is. This is definitely one of those cleansers that is a bit of a textural experience as well as a cleansing one, and it feels very thick and doesn't foam at all. It's more like it's gently lifting away anything you don't want on your skin, while still hydrating. This is probably the cleanser that is most similar to a cleansing oil in terms of what it does, but without the oily feel that isn't for everyone.

There is a somewhat calming scent to this, but it's not strong and it's a really nice experience before bed.

This isn't stripping, wont mess with your skin at all, it feels really comforting and hydrating, and is really nice and soothing on skin that has recently been sunburnt too. I imagine it would be great if you've recently overdone it with retinol too!
