Our Verdict on These LAB Series All-In-One Men’s Skincare Products...

You know, those two people who hosted a mini podcast series on Men’s beauty called Mr Beauty IQ?

Now we're acquainted, you should know that when we signed on to become men's skincare road-testers, we were absolute beginners.

Before the podcast, our skincare routines consisted of... well, nothing. Maybe sunscreen on very hot days, but that was it.

We know. But don't worry, because we see the light now.

Having spoken to a bunch of experts and trialled some of Adore Beauty's best products, we feel like we're well on our way and deep in damage control making up for years of skincare neglect.

A BIG player in this game was a brand called LAB Series...

What Is LAB Series?

LAB Series makes high-performance, functional skincare products that specifically target typically male skin concerns.

Aiding razor burn, balancing oil control and addressing the appearance of the signs of ageing, LAB Series was the ideal brand for us beauty and skincare newbies.

Depending on your specific skin type, skin concerns and approach to skin care, there are a few different LAB Series ranges to choose from:

• All-In-One = Quick and easy multi-use products that do a bit of everything.

• Daily Rescue = Men's skincare products for dry skin that target dehydration and dullness.

• Anti-Age = Targeted products to firm and lift the look of signs of ageing like fine lines and wrinkles.

• Oil Control = Oil-free men's skincare products for oily skin prone to breakouts and enlarged pores.

• Instant Fix = Quick fix products to even skin tone and blur the look of pores.

Each LAB Series range includes only the products you'll need, so no fussy 15-step skincare routines here.

Even better, they're all high-performance products formulated with active skincare ingredients, but in multi-tasking formulas that require zero effort.

Oh, and the brand has just been re-launched with even simpler products AND sustainable packaging that utilises post-consumer recycled material and responsibly-sourced FSC-certified wood fibre.

Doesn't hurt the colour-coded packaging makes it near impossible to stuff up, either.

Our LAB Series Skincare Review.

We had a few glorious weeks of experiencing the skinfluencer lifestyle testing these LAB Series products.

Honestly, we don’t think we’re ever going to get over the fact we were sent free stuff to trial.

But which products will we repurchase once the samples run dry and it's back to reality?

Here's a list of our favourite LAB Series products we'll be adding to our next Adore Beauty staff order.

1. LAB Series ALL-IN-ONE Multi-Action Face Wash.

What:

Lab Series All-In-One Multi Action Face Wash 100ml

A 3-in-1 hydrating and exfoliating cleanser.

Why we'd repurchase it:

LAB Series Multi-Action Face Wash is a great option for those with normal to dry skin who want to streamline their skincare routine.

It simultaneously cleanses, exfoliates and conditions the skin, meaning you get to tick off these crucial steps with just one product.

Not convinced? Think of it like that scene in Men In Black where Will Smith’s character gets mad about being given the smallest weapon... but turns out, it's more powerful than most of the big dogs.

Bonus: The purifying exfoliating beads in this cleanser immediately give you the feeling you're making a positive difference to your skin.

2. LAB Series DAILY RESCUE Hydrating Emulsion.

What:

Lab Series Daily Rescue Hydrating Emulsion 50ml

An easy all-in-one moisturiser that does... everything.

Why we'd repurchase it:

Do you have dry skin? Do you want to fight the signs of ageing? Do you find yourself confused about what to do between cleansing and putting on your sunscreen?

Well, continue reading, our curious friend.

This moisturiser is perfect for people who need a little bit more hydration, but don't want to feel greasy.

The texture feels very light on the skin, so you quickly forget it's there. This formula also contains caffeine to reduce the appearance of puffiness (tick) and hyaluronic acid that works with Hydra2G technology (fancy) to attract and bind water to the skin's surface.

If you could turn an expensive bottle of sparkling water into a moisturiser, we imagine this would be the result.

3. LAB Series DAILY RESCUE Gel Cleanser.

What:

Lab Series Daily Rescue Gel Cleanser 100ml

An effective and inoffensive cleanser anyone can use.

Why we'd repurchase it:

Matt here - my favourite thing about this cleanser is it's completely neutral on the skin. No fragrance. No stinging. No reason not to use it.

This product's also been the easiest of all skincare products for me to consistently use, because if you keep it in the shower, it becomes a part of your routine without you even noticing. Like a Jedi mind trick.

My face feels cleaner after using, and my pores appear clearer. Combine this with a moisturiser and you're in for a good time.

4. LAB Series DAILY RESCUE Energising Face Lotion.

What: Lab Series Daily Rescue Energizing Face Lotion 50ml

A moisturiser that also helps with managing the appearance of signs of ageing.

Why we'd repurchase it:

Eddie here - this has become my most consistently used moisturiser. So if you’re confused by all the different choices out there, this is the no-brainer option.

After using two pumps, twice a day for the last six weeks, I reckon this product is what gives my skin the ‘dewy’ look everyone raves about.

The tube is nowhere near finished yet either, so you definitely get your money's worth.

5. LAB Series ALL-IN-ONE Face Treatment.

What:

Lab Series All-In-One Face Treatment 50ml

A serum/moisturiser hybrid in one convenient tube.

Why we'd repurchase it:

This product makes some bold claims on the front of the tube, saying it's able to soothe, moisturise, repair and mattify.

It's a great choice for anyone reluctant to get into skin care because they don’t want to commit to an eight-step routine. Alas, salvation awaits.

The lightweight lotion formula does indeed instantly moisturise and mattify your skin, as well as helping diminish the appearance of wrinkles. What a time to be alive!

Keep this on the bathroom sink and rub it into your face after a shower.

6. LAB Series OIL CONTROL Clay Cleanser + Mask.

What:

Lab Series Oil Control Clay Cleanser + Mask 100ml

Exactly as the name suggests, it's a clay cleanser that can be used as a mask, too.

Why we'd repurchase it:

This two-in-one product is handy to have given it's affordable, but also acts as a cleanser or a mask, depending on what you’re keen for.

Eddie has a notoriously oily t-zone, so applying this as a mask on slightly damp skin has been his go-to.

Matt also uses it as a cleanser, especially when breakouts appear, because it gives you a very clean, fresh feeling after showering.

7. LAB Series Instant Fix Colour Correcting Moisturiser.

What:

Lab Series Instant Fix Color Correcting Moisturizer 50ml

A colour-correcting moisturiser and pore-blurring primer in one.

Why we'd repurchase it:

If you've ever wanted a product that instantly makes your skin look brighter, calmer, more hydrated and smoother, this is it!

The in-built blurring and tinted technology counteracts redness, smooths the look of pores and evens out skin overall.

Basically, it helps your skin get its sh*t together.

Bada-bing, bada-boom. You're done!
