Most Helpful Criticism
I really love the colours. The purple is my favourite. They are a bit drying though so not good for chapped lips.
Love itI love this range. I have three different shades and they are all beautiful. Lasts all day, doesn't dry my lips and very easy to apply.
Designer quality!Designer quality, rich colours and rich formulas. Feels super creamy on my lips and the colour lasts all dag
Good colour but very dryingI have the colour 'confidence' and the pigment is really good but I find it overly drying so not an everyday shade
Great coloursI really love the colours. The purple is my favourite. They are a bit drying though so not good for chapped lips.
underwhelmedi was so excited to try this formula when i saw balmain x loreal. I purchased urban safari a nude, it was a really sticky/gritty texture and not a very nice colour. I personally found it very difficult to apply.
Great coloursVery nice colours use often. Stays on pretty well too
LuxeSuch luxe looking lippy, in love
Really prettyThese lipsticks are super pretty! I love the colour “confidence” they last quite well and the colour is quite pigmented
LoveI absolutely love these colours. The product is great, my lips feel hydrated and moisturized. I get compliments when I wear confessions. I got two purple ones also. Definitely would recommend these lipsticks.
The nude is a dreamLove the colour of the nude shade, perfect and versatile with most looks. Packaging is nice and luxe and formula is standard.
OverratedI got really excited to purchase this lipstick and really really tried to love it. unfortunately formula is very drying and worse needs re-application after just a few hours or after eating and drinking. Though the colours are lovely and vibrant, for the price point its pretty disappointing, especially considering its a collaboration with a high end brand.
overall, I think the hype was due to its 'limited edition' status but not worth paying full price.
fun coloursLove the packaging of these and the range has such fun colours. Very dry formula but it is still fairly comfortable
FreedomThis is such a fun range. I really like the freedom colour! It's such a nice shade.
GreatGreat colour selection and nice formula.
beautiful coloursThese L'Oreal x Balmain lipsticks have such a beautiful range of colours. The pigmentation is great and I love the classy packaging. They feel nice on the lips aswell.
So prettySo many pretty colours!! Love the range and the finish. Great pigmentation and the staying power is really nice.
BeautifulThis range is so beautiful. The lipstick itself glides on smoothly and stays on for hours.
I love the look of this packaging too.
GorgeousHow luxe and gorgeous do these look? And so cheap!!
These are so lovely to use and all the colors I have compliment me. I use the bolder colors for night dressy events and they always add to my look.
Great colours, so naturalThere's some great colours and the product is really light. It gives a natural lip, even in the darker shades, and works just as easily with an everyday look as it does with a more glam, dressy look.
Creamy with long lasting colourI think I've found my favourite "drug strore" lippy!!! I don't normally wear lipstick as I prefer lipstains but needed a bold red for a function. I bought "domination" and I absolutely love it! It has a rich red colour that really suits me. I am Asian with fair skin and dark hair. It brought out the colour in my cheeks and made my teeth look whiter. The texture is creamy which I prefer and has a more satiny finish. Ive even tried using it like a lip stain with some lip balm and it works perfectly.
Such a great collectionI love these lipsticks. They stay on for a good while, and the colour range is great! I love keeping a few in my bag
Handbag hero for a fun night out! This Balmain collab is a super-chic capsule collection at such an attainable price. Pigment pay off is deep and rich, and the Color Riche formulation is matte but still feels moisturising. Liberation is my go-to for a bold, easy to achieve 'night out' look but I'm thinking I may just pick up a few more while they last!
little luxuryLoving this collab from Loreal Paris x Balmain, the packaging is beautiful, very high end :)
I have tried the shade "Fever" which is a gorgeous terracotta colour. This worked well with my pale skin and platinum hair. It felt very current.
The pigment is great, it feels nice on the lips and lasting power was pretty good.
Balmain blackLoving the black range from Balmain x Loreal Paris.
Luxury packaging and an awesome product for a low price Winning!!!
My fav colour -confidence!!! We all need alittle confidence sometimes!
Affordable high fashion!OK so I have the shade Rebellion, which is the blue shade in the matching blue tube. I'm not one to shy away from colour and I absolutely love that this Balmain x L'Oreal collection has made these gorgeous shades so easily available. That said, I haven't swatched this full collection so I can't review it as a whole. I'm just going to focus on the shade Rebellion.
I LOVE lipstick, and the deeper I get into my lipstick addiction, the further I tend to stick to the high end brands that I know will perform - I notice little details and I have too many lipsticks to justify owning something that isn't perfect. That said, I've never owned a blue lipstick that isn't tricky in some way. I think it must be hard to formulate a smooth blue lipstick shade, because I've never owned one that glides on the way that a red or pink shade would.
So, in terms of blue lipsticks, Rebellion gets a 5/5 from me. No, it's not perfect, you do need to pay attention when you're applying it (of course, it's extremely pigmented!). And the staying power is about what you'd expect - it's creamy to apply, and hydrating, but if you start eating with it on you can expect to reapply after. This can leave a bit of a purple stain, which I love to be honest. It's very pretty - sometimes I wear the blue for an hour or two, take it off and apply a purple toned gloss and the effect is like a glossy, hydrated stain that isn't over the top.
In terms of lipsticks broadly though, this performs better than I expected from L'Oreal, but still I can't give it 5 stars. For its price range it's amazing, but it's not quite tenacious or creamy enough to get me to rave about it. That said, I adore the packaging - it definitely doesn't look like a $25 lipstick, it looks great!
Gorgeous GreigeIf you are looking for a statement lip, you can't look past this L'Oreal x Balmain collection. I have the colour Glamazone and it is a beautiful statement greige colour, subtle enough to still be a neutral but bold enough to stand out in my collection. This is the perfect winter night time colour on my fair/neutral skin, the kind I'd wear with a big faux fur jacket and some killer boots.
It's a really creamy matte formula, it's not completely transfer proof but is something I'll compromise on considering it's so comfortable to wear and doesn't flake off. It also wears away evenly, so you're not left with that interesting two-tone lip scenario.
Knocked off a star because it has that classic L'Oreal lipstick scent (if you've used one, you know what I'm talking about) - it's a love it or hate it scent, but I find it a bit overpowering for me personally.
All in all, a gorgeous collection that's totally worth the money in my opinion.
