The green shade really helped correct the redness underneath my foundation, no other primer has been able to do this for me. I'm in love!

A good product for mattifying skin and prepping for foundation but not much colour so average as a corrector

  4. pretty solid primer

I decided to try this out after a reading an article in which the writer said she often wore the yellow base on no-makeup days as it was just that good. I find that I can't personally wear it without something else on top, as it gives my porcelain skin a pretty sallow tone. it is pretty good at mellowing out purple scars, of which I have many thanks to some bad acne, but it's not amazing. under tinted moisturiser or foundation though, it's pretty good, but I'm not entirely sure if its coverage from the primer or base.
  5. Yellow & Pearl White: for unbelievably good skin

Hoooooo boy are Koh Gen Do unparalleled when it comes to achieving that "why yes i DID just wake up like this ;) " kinda glowy, flawless yet believable skin. I've been using Koh Gen Do for years and I can't imagine anything replacing Koh Gen Do products in my every day routine.

Now, I'll need to review the Yellow & Pearl White products separately, because though the idea is similar I don't think the products are.

The KGD Yellow I'd recommend to anyone with drier skin who has yellow undertones and wants to change their foundation undertones, or for people that need to correct redness. Meanwhile the Pearl White is my favourite liquid highlighter, and works beautifully to add dewiness/glowiness to foundation!

Koh Gen Do - Yellow Colour Base:
    + Dewy, yellow-toned colour base.
+ Ideal to mix with foundation to tweak the undertones of foundations that are too pink or not yellow enough for your skin tone. Also ideal to help address redness.
+ Very moisturising, works well over sunscreen without balling up
+ Sheers out but does lean on the rich side of things
+ Really nice when your skin is sensitive or irritated
+ Goes great as a product to just correct your skintone without needing to use foundation on top!

Koh Gen Do - Pearl White Colour Base
+ Similar to Shimmering Skin Perfecter, but more wearable - less intense!
+ This also blends really beautifully - it's rich but somewhat thinner in texture than the Yellow Colour Base.
+ On dry/dull skin days I mix this with my transparent primer for a really nice, glowy & hydrated finish. No need for extra foundation here!
+ More regularly though, this is my every day highlighter - just put a touch on your fingertip and blend it into your cupid's bow and the top of your cheekbones.
+ How does this compare to the KGD Illuminator? This is a lot more sheer, and has more subtle glitter/shimmer. This definitely catches and reflects the light but isn't over the top at all.
