Shop Dermalogica Exfoliants

Whether you are after a face scrub or a chemical exfoliant, the skincare experts at Dermalogica have got your exfoliating needs sorted with a vast selection of exfoliators for all different skin types.

From gentle scrubs for sensitive skin to AHA-enriched formulations that brighten and smooth ageing skin, Dermalogica offers a number of effective exfoliators. A fresher, purer, and clearer complexion is only a step away.

What are the key benefits of exfoliants?

Exfoliating helps to remove the dulling dead cells that remain on your skin's surface. As your body constantly produces new skin cells, older cells harden and detach from the skin. However, as you age, this process slows down. The result is dullness, congested skin, and dryness. By exfoliating, you are literally giving your sluggish skin a hand so you can enjoy a younger, smoother, brighter, and healthier complexion.

Who should use exfoliants?

Exfoliating is beneficial for all skin types, including sensitive skin. Sloughing is particularly good for managing uneven skin tones, blackheads, congested pores, or fine lines and wrinkles. As you age, exfoliation becomes more and more important. Exfoliators can also be used as body scrubs and lip scrubs.

What are the key ingredients typically found in exfoliants?

Dermalogica offers two different types of exfoliators: physical exfoliants and chemical. Physical exfoliants often include ingredients such as Corn Cob Meal or Rice Bran. These particles manually scrub against the skin to remove dead cells. Chemical exfoliants, often in the form of Lactic Acid and Salicylic Acid, dissolve the glue that keeps dead cells attached to the skin’s surface.

How to use exfoliants:

  • After cleansing, wet face and apply a small amount of product to your face with fingertips

  • Gently lather product over the face in circular motions, concentrating on dry patches of the face.

Which Dermalogica exfoliant is good for dry skin?

Daily Resurfacer from Dermalogica is good for dry skin. This exfoliating product is enriched with Hyaluronic Acid and Eelgrass, which help to retain the skin’s moisture levels during exfoliation. The leave-on treatment contains a blend of Alpha-Hydroxy Acids and Beta-Hydroxy Acids to smooth the skin and reduce the appearance of lines without causing redness.

Which Dermalogica exfoliant is good for oily and acne-prone skin?

Using an exfoliator on oily and acne-prone skin can help to clear congestion and detoxify pores. Dermalogica Skin Prep Scrub uses Corn Cob Meal to gently remove dead skin cells and bacteria. Aloe Vera soothes any inflammation caused by blemishes.

Which Dermalogica exfoliant is good for sensitive skin?

For sensitive skin, choosing the right exfoliant is particularly important, as many products can cause adverse reactions. Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant has been designed for gentle everyday use. Its soothing formulation is perfect for sensitive skin types.

Which Dermalogica exfoliant is good for ageing skin?

Exfoliation is critical in an anti-ageing routine. Accordingly, Dermalogica offers a large range of exfoliators suitable for ageing skin. The AGE Smart range includes two beneficial exfoliators: Daily Superfoliant and Multivitamin Thermafoliant. Both help to restore skin’s vitality and reduce the appearance of premature ageing.

Good very good

Having lots of acne scarring and pigmentation from sun and also pregnancy, I've been consistently using this product for 6mths+ and finding it wonderful for reducing the uneven tone. Perfect for sensitive and dry skin. Isn't a 'miracle' cream and doesn't/can't totally remove or undo the scarring or sun damage, but it's made such an enormous difference I don't feel as self conscious and don't need ...

Creamy, moisturising microfoliant

I have used the daily microfoliant for years now, I first had this gifted as a sample and wow, it is similar but softer if that makes sense. When my skin is feeling a little dry between seasons, if I have somehow irritated my skin barrier or if I am having hormonal issues with my skin, I switch to this for a few days before going back to my usual. A soothing exfoliant

Good exfoliant

I like this although I’m not sure if it’s bad for my skin, as I have heard it’s best not to use physical exfoliants. I do think it’s gentle though and does not irritate my sensitive skin.
