Exfoliators are designed to help remove dead skin cells, removing dulling debris and instantly leaving skin smoother and brighter. A chemical exfoliant is a type that uses its ingredients to loosen the glue that holds dead cells to your skin, while a manual exfoliant uses abrasive particles to physically dislodge the cells.
The Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant is one of our favourite Dermalogica products. It's a unique rice-based enzyme powder, which gently scrubs to facilitate penetration of the brightening ingredients; licorice, aspergillus and grapefruit. Papain Enzyme and Salicylic Acid also help dissolve excess surface skin cells, and the product is safe enough for daily use.
Another Dermalogica exfoliant we adore is MultiVitamin Thermafoliant. It is a great combination of manual and chemical exfoliation. A mixture of fine mineral powders, lactic and salicylic acids work on multiple layers of the skin. We often use this when we feel our skin needs something a little more active. The wow factor is that once mixed with water, it generates slight heat to help better penetration of products. This perfect balance leaves your skin so smooth and supple. This exfoliant should be used 2-3 times a week. If this is your first interaction with Dermalogica you may want to start with the Microfoliant to build up your skin’s tolerance.
How to use Dermalogica Exfoliants:
Each exfoliant is supplied with directions to ensure maximum effectiveness of the product. For example, the Daily Microfoliant is a popular product that is designed to be used as a paste, massaged onto the skin for a minute. The Gentle Cream Exfoliant however requires 10-15 minutes to activate over cleansed skin.'
