Most Helpful Criticism

Not a bad pore filler
This matifies the skin and does fill the pores to an extent. But I found less is definitely more with this. Do not over apply and it will do as it states. Overall its a good primer.

  2. Not the biggest fan but it’s still great

I was silly and slapped it on like a primer for the first few times, after huge dry white patches came up I changed it up, tried applyingby tapping just on the problem areas with small amounts after warming it in my fingers and it was better but I’ve found I still can’t get rid of those dry patches
  3. great primer for oily skin.

I purchased this primer as I have combination skin. When I first used it I wasn't too sure about it as I found it a bit too matte for my skin.
I use SPF 50 plus sunscreen on my face although I hate the way my makeup sits over physical sunscreens, I still use the sunscreen.
I decided to try this primer over the SPF to see if would help and it certainly does. my makeup goes on a lot smoother. I love this primer and I will definitely repurchase.
  4. SUPER matte

This was ridiculously matte on my ridiculously oily skin. Held out pretty well for the 12 hours, but I can't say it did my pores any favors. I'd put this as an oily-controlling primer only and not so much for the pore filling.

That being said, you also have to be careful in how you use this, as it tends to ball up. You definitely don't want to use too much either. Just a tiny bit is enough, warm it up with your fingertips, and gently tap onto your problem areas. Too much of this WILL have your base caking up.
  5. Underwhelmed

Wasn't sure if the product actually worked or I convinced myself it did because of the price I payed. I feel as though it did make my skin look matte and semi poreless but for the price I wouldn't buy it again
  6. ok

I have combination skin and it didn’t work well with my foundation(tried with too faced born this way), the foundation did not set well and got really messy. I think this will only work with really oily skin
  7. Love it!

I love this Becca primer!. It makes my skin look really good and my makeup applies really well on top of it. Helps my makeup to last longer and I'm really impressed with it how well ti mattefies! I have dry skin but oily t-zone and this works perfectly on my nose and chin when needed. The packaging is lovely too!

    Would definitely recommend
  8. Pore away

Great for hiding those annoying pores! Would rebuy.
  9. I would buy this product again

Love this product! Work great if you have oily skin!
  10. Great product, perfect for me!

My skin is slightly oily, although mostly in the t-zone. This is where I used this primer, I found it amazing and it instantly mattified the areas I put it on and also filled in the pores!. Quite happy with how it works, and you don't need much product either, so would definitely last a while. For my skin, as its quite oily in the t-zone, I found it lasted quite long, 8 hours +
and then supplemented with a blotting paper during the day after that and its perfect!
  11. Love this so much

Love this primer!! I have very Oily Skin & it helps keep my makeup perfect all day!! Best primer ever!
  12. Great for keeping makeup on all day!

I have sensitive and oily skin, and was looking to try out a primer which might help keep my makeup from melting off my face halfway through the day. This primer is probably one of the most effective I have used to help keep my foundation/concealer stay in place. The product will feel tacky on your skin. For me, I appreciate this tacky feel because this is what will help your foundation adhere to your skin for the rest of the day.
  13. Bye bye to oily skin struggles

The becca ever-matte poreless primer is the only product that seems to work on my oily skin. I apply it before foundation and sometimes just use it on it's own to control how oily my face gets. Iv'e tried several other primers that supposedly work for oily skin but this is by far the best product Iv'e tried. My skin is very oily and yes, I do the whole skin care routine. Exfoliate, face wash, toner, astringent & moisturizing so it's not that. It's just oily skin. I hope this review and this products helps other people with oily skin
  14. Decent for day to day

I started using this on my entire face and it was messing with my dry cheeks too much, so now I just use it in my T-zone. It works well, IF you let it absorb for a little bit before you put on you make up. I have had the best results if I put this on before I get in the car and then do the rest of my makeup after my 30 minute drive. It doesn't prevent getting shiny on really intense, long days, but does the trick for a little bit.
  15. i tried to like it

As much as I LOVE Becca products, this one’s a bit on the so-so side. This primer just won’t stick on my face. Whatever I do (with serum, without, apply directly, moisturize first) it just never stays in place. I used my fingers in applying like what I usually do with my other primers. I tried using a beauty blender and it kinda stayed. But I end up using too much product. Anyway probably just not for me!
  16. Good enough but not repurchasing

Good enough but not repurchasing as the performance doesn't warrant the price. Yes, this copes with my oily forehead in summer...for a bit. Not more than an hour or so. It doesn't work miracles on my big pores either. Thus, eh...
  17. Keeps face matte!

This is really good primer to keep your skin matte all day. It is a little thick and maybe slightly difficult to spread, but it really works. Great to use in the summer or more humid months!
  18. Hard to use

I warm this up in my fingers before applying and it apples nicely burnt foundation ends up looking cakey and my pores look enlarged. It is good at preventing oil and shine but doesn't make my skin look nice
  19. Oily Skin Gal's best friend

Bought this as it was a hyped product on Youtube, and have not been disappointed. Yes, it is a bit more difficult to work with, but warm up a small pea sized amount in between your fingers until the product turns clear then immediately PRESS into skin will get you the best results of a matte oil-free base for your foundation. Also, when applying foundation on top of this primer, make sure you use PRESSING motion, never swipe foundation on top as it will leave streaks.
  20. BECCA EVER-MATTE PORELESS PRIMING PERFECTOR

The only thing that has ever kept me shine free for a full day! Use on oily parts, not all over face. Let it dry before applying foundation. I’ve tried others...they don’t work as well. This saves me, especially in the summer.
  21. Mattifying but Difficult!

You don't apply like a normal primer, don't rub PAT!
First time using it, i hated it. It split my moisturizer, I thought if its split my moisturizer then what would it do to my foundation.

After a month or so, I retried the primer, but out a tiny amount (size of my pinky nail), and dabbed it on my T zone, I LOVED it, my foundation was flawless and I didn't get oily all day (5:30am to 7:00pm).

My Skin is extremely oily, so this primer is a Makeup God send!
  22. Smoothing and Mattifying all in one!

I purchased this as I have struggled to find a great primer for my challenging, bumpy oily skin. I can now stop layering two primers as this one does as it says, it smooths my pores and mattifies at the same time. When I wear this, my foundation stays flawless for atleast an extra 4 hours. Worth every cent!
  23. Difficult to use

I bought this on special because I really like the Estee lauder mattifying primer and this had good reviews too. I have oily combination skin with an oily t zone. This primer can be very difficult to use to begin with, but once you get used to warming it then patting it on, it seems to be good at reducing the appearance of pores and holding makeup in place. If you don't apply it correctly it will cause makeup to pill.
  24. Flawless complexion thanks to this product

if you want your makeup to stay and slay all day then I 100% recommend this product. Its great especially for oil or combo skin to achieve the matte yet radiant look that looks amazing!
  25. Great primer, if you have a PHD in makeup application

This primer keeps you seriously matte. Like, no joke, do I even have pores or oily skin matte. The biggest issue I have when paying $60 for primer is that I shouldn't need to have beauty degree to be able to make it work!

This has given me SO many issues. It cakes under makeup. It pills. It makes my moisturiser swirl everywhere. I'm usually in a rush in the morning and I only put this on my t-zone, and I stopped using it because I found myself needing to pray to whatever Gods there are to make it work this time.

I finally figured it out... But that's the reason it's not getting 5 stars from me.

You only need a small amount of product! Warm it up with your fingers first. Make sure your moisturiser/SPF isn't too heavy. I've found that if I put the Becca primer on first, then a normalish primer that is easier application, it seems to work just fine?

  26. Holy Grail Primer!

I have tried soooo many different primers to combat my shiny t-zone. I wear mineral powder foundation to work and liquid foundation if I'm going out at night. This primer works for both.

I had previously tried Benefit Porefessional, Estee Lauder Mattifying, Smashbox Photo Finish, Nars Pore and Shine Control... the list goes on. By about 2pm at work, my forehead and chin in particular are very shiny and oily and my makeup becomes patchy in these areas. But not since using this primer! It really does work.

It took me a few times to get the application right. If you don't warm it up in your hands (as others have suggested) it dries really chalky, with white residue. But the one important thing to do is to make sure it does dry before you apply your foundation, whether it be liquid or powder. I use it only in my t-zone and it has made the world of difference. I am typing this from my desk at 5pm about to leave work and my make up looks like it did this morning. This stuff is a game changer for me!

  27. Great product

This primer is fantastic for all my clients (and me!) with oily skin, although I did have to do some further research for best application methods as the packaging wasn’t very informative.
  28. Incredible. Just need to know how to use it!

This primer is incredible. It is the only primer that keeps makeup from separating on my nose and keeps me matte for hours. I only use a small amount on my t-zone. To stop the product from balling up like other people have experienced, I warm the product between my fingers and then press the primer on to the desired areas.
I let it dry for a minute and then go in with foundation or powder. When applying foundation etc over the top I use a beauty blender or flat top brush to bounce the product over the primer. Don't buff this product in EVER :)
  29. Best ever matt primer

I have combination oily/dry skin. I use this on the oily areas. You only need a tiny amount of product and it must be rubbed together on your hands and patted on. This creates a matt seal that makes foundation last longer.
  30. My HG oily-skin primer

I will never be without this. I have very oily, acne-prone skin with icepick scarring and large pores. I squeeze out a tiny amount, rub it between my fingers then pat it on my T-zone and cheeks. Pat, don’t rub! It does take a while to get the hang of, but if you take your time patting it in properly you won’t get the patchiness you might get otherwise. It sucks up shine, plus I love that it’s cruelty- and silicone-free, and you get a 40mL tube. Love it.
  31. Can't get enoufh

Absolutely love this primer! I have always had problems with my makeup separating on my face (especially my T zone) and I've tried many products to try stop it but nothing worked. Wasn't until a gf of mine suggested I try this BECCA primer that everything changed.
My makeup went from flat to fabulous. It sits perfect all day long, doesn't seperate and makes my skin look flawless. I paired it with 'the ordianary' highly spreadable primer and they are a perfect combo!
Thanks a BECCA for making such an excellent product!!
  32. great when you know how to use it

This primer is hardcore, I can only use it in my oily t zone and I need to warm it up with my fingers, then pat it on. I can feel that my forehead is tight after use. Dry skin stay away!
  33. Probably best for those with VERY oily skin

I have combination skin that tends to lean more towards oily - usually within a couple hours after waking up my skin is slippery. I find that this primer is the WORST for my skin. Even after applying moisturizer in the morning, this primer still manages to dry my skin out enough to bring out dry patches that previously were not visible.

After I put this primer on, I need to add an additional layer of moisturizer to the newly developed dry patches before I can even attempt to apply foundation.

The formula itself is thick and sticky, and dries extremely fast so that I barely have time to spread it over required areas of my face.I do not find this to provide much assistance in keeping makeup on longer...

Overall, I must say that this is probably my least favourite foundation I have ever used and definitely would not buy again for personal use.
  34. Great for oily skin

Very thick in texture at first but when applied with fingers, it melts down. But you have to work quickly with it otherwise it sets!
Keeps oil away all day long!
  35. Great for an oily T-Zone

This primer is great, if you can get it spread evenly before it sets and don't wear any creams or foundations that happen to clash with the ingredients, this will cause it to pill.
As previously mentioned you can't really work with this stuff without warming it up in between your fingers first. Then have to act quickly to spread it over the skin in a thin, evenly spread layer and don't rub this again until it's completely set or you risk it pilling (balling up and rolling off the skin).

However once set this stuff is amazing. It sets my makeup for gosh darn near the whole day without reapplication and do I go all shiny and wax-melty
  36. Only for very oily skin!

I should have listened to the other reviews. I have combination skin and this primer was far too drying for me. It was fantastic on my oily nose and completely absorbed the oil instantly and provided a great base for applying mineral powder. However, it was very dry on the rest of my face and left chalky streaks that I had to re-moisturise. I love Becca though, so I will switch to the Resurfacing Primer.
  37. Best for oily, oily skin

I have combination/oily skin and this was far too drying for my skin type, especially in winter. It made my makeup stay put on my face right through to the evening but my skin felt dehydrated and dull after frequent use. It tightens your skin once applied, which is actually quite nice but doesn't have the nicest smell and feels quite sticky to apply.

Towards the end of the tube, it also became very hard to squeeze out of the packaging and I had to roll it up like a toothpaste tube for the last week or so of use.
If your skin type is very oily, this will certainly work wonders for you.
  38. This is a great product for the oily t-zone area and helps makeup stay put.

I have tried lots of mattifying primers and they all seem to make my skin oiler. This primer actually works but it is all in the application. It is very important to pat it into your skin, not rub. Also, don't use too much because that will have a 'chalky' effect. You also have to let the primer dry before you apply your makeup and make sure that you apply your makeup quickly. It also seems to work better with liquid rather than powder foundations and you seem to need less makeup. I have been using this primer for over a week now and it still keeps the oil at bay. I am looking forward to using it in the warmer summer months, when my oily t-zone area really gets out of control.
  39. Amazing for EXTREMELY oily skin

This primer is great for very very oily skin. I would not use if you are combinations or only get a small amount of shine through the day or it will dry you skin out. But it is perfect for people who have excessive oil. Only con is sometimes it stings when it is freshly applied
  40. Not good with foundation

I have combination/oily skin and I bought this product hoping that I could use a foundation and not have to put powder over the top to give that matte finish.
I was disappointed because this primer is quite a thick balm which you need to warm up before you put it on, otherwise it won't spread properly.
It's great if you aren't wearing any other makeup and just want to control the oil on your skin, but as soon as you put on a foundation nothing sticks.
I tried mineral powder and liquid foundation, both just went patchy and didn't stay on my skin at all.
I went back to using a creamier primer, and I will just use this product when I don't feel like wearing makeup.
