On the fence, lovely scent, rich moisturiser

Imogen

The scent of this moisturiser is lovely! I purchased the smaller pot size and it lasted me a very long time. I have combination skin and found this to be quite rich, so I only used as night cream. It absorbs well but if you are in warmer climates I think face would sweat/get oily if used in the daytime. Probably wouldn’t repurchase as there are cheaper natural alternatives that I enjoy more

  3. very gentle

    Ariane

A lovely hydrating moisturiser that forms and hydrates the skin, leaving it feeling nourished, hydrated and calm. Good for face and neck use.
  4. moisturizing

    Viv

I like this cream a lot, it's a moisturizing face cream that has a really nice smell - to me it's lavender and maybe some rosehip
  5. Too much lavender

    Tea Sommelier

This primrose facial hydrating cream is very thick, so it lasts many uses. Even though I have a combination of dry and oily skin, this cream sinks in so well very quickly. My only dislike is the scent, don't get me wrong, I personally love lavender flavoured desserts, and I've used a lavender foot cream for years.
I just can't handle it in my face creams. The rosemary and citrus smells in this cream are overpowered by the lavender, it just smells too loud for me. I'm not sure if I just bought a bad batch, but I don't love the formula of the cream enough to tolerate the overall smell.
  6. Beautiful moisturizer

    La

I used this moisturizer for a whole year- the large jar lasted me twelve months. You only need a small amount for a dewy, nourishing finish. The fragrance is beautiful. I have sensitive combination skin and I’m in my late 30s and found this to be a great base for make up in the day and basic moisturizer at night. I used it through summer and winter and found it to be a good all rounder.
  7. Good moisturiser

    RM

I got a sample of this moisturiser and found It to be an effective moisturiser for my combination skin but I think there are better value alternatives.
  8. Good for combo skin

    Maddy

This is a really nice moisturiser however you only need a small amount given the thickness of it. Like all Aesop products, the smell is fantastic. It also doesn't feel oily which is great for those who like me battle oily/combo skin.
  9. One of my favourites

    Elizabeth

I love this cream, makes my skin feel hydrated and fresh, has a lovely smell and feel to it, I use it every day and then use twice per week with the Aesop rose oil, skin is hydrated, fresh and lovely.
  10. Aesop’s primrose hydrating cream 10/10

    Sara

The smell, the texture and the hydration level
Is perfect for my combo skin type. I can’t say enough good things about this cream! Aesop’s primrose hydrating cream 10/10
  11. Expensive but worth it

    Sara

Aesop is great but expensive. In saying that you don’t need a lot to moisturise the face. I’ve tried other Aesop moisturisers but this one is my new favourite and smells great too!
  12. travel jar

    Lydia

I normally get the bigger jar because it's slightly more value for money. But I have one of these when I travel. It's a decent size and is my favourite face cream from aesop. Not happy with the recent price increase though
  13. Little goes a long way!

    Lachie

This is a really nice moisturiser however you only need a small amount given the thickness of it. Like all Aesop products, the smell is fantastic. It also doesn't feel oily either.
  14. Rose herbal scent & very cleansing

    J

I find all of the Aesop mud facials are great for a daily cleanse of the skin. My skin always feels so tight and refreshed after using this one. Has a lovely herbal rose scent to it but nothing too overpowering. Consistency is a thin smooth mud. It can feel a little heated or tingly if I use it after a good cleanse or exfoliation so I would recommend using it after just a light cleanse and not after exfoliating.
  15. Great

    Yoshie

This product is all natural. I use it along with the anitioxidant tface toner. It has a clean citrus scent, and it hydrates my face without making it oily. My skin is smooth and clear. I will definitely use this product again.
  16. Aesop Primrose Facial Hydrating Cream

    Lily

Lovely hydrating cream. Personally find it a little heavier for daytime, but if you're on the drier side I'm sure it would be fine.
  17. Like a lot!

    Alex

Beautiful lavender scent and nice though lightly hydrating face cream. For the price, it's such a small little jar and I'd want it to do more than lightly hydrate my skin
  18. great

    asami

I really liked the "plumpness' and glow that i get from this moisturiser. It also smells lovely. Seeing as I have really dry patches, I am not sure whether it would be moisurising enough for winter months, but for now it does a great job
  19. Lightly moisturizing

    Katherine

this cream has such a nice floral scent that's not too overpowering. i'd love it more if it was more moisturizing but I find it sufficient for my dry skin to use as a day cream during warmer months.
  20. Love it

    Peta

Absorbs quick and it leaves my skin with a Matt finish. My skin is more soft and looks healthier.
  21. Aesop is great quality

    Sara

This is a really nice moisturiser however you only need a small amount given the thickness of it. Like all Aesop products, the smell is fantastic. It also doesn't feel oily either.
  22. IT does what it says it will do!

    Mads

Both my skin and I love this cream. It does keep my skin soft and hydrated, and it smells lovely. It's the perfect winter face cream as it feels like it adds an extra dose of protection against the elements. Another great Aesop product! Thank you!
  23. Nice

    Olive

I love the smell and this product is so hydrating! However, it is quite thick, but if you only use a little bit its fine! it also lasts for ages as its a large tub
  24. moisturized

    Zhaowei

I find this product really good. I use it every morning and night. After I applied it in the evening,I always found my skin feels moisturized next morning and I'm fond of its smell which makes me think of the herbs .
  25. Not great for oily skin

    Lily-Rose

This product looks and smells amazing with a herbal scent and beautiful packaging. However, I have oily skin and this hydrating cream was quite thick and made my skin feel clogged up. Would recommend for drier skin, as it was still a nice product but not suited for me, unfortunately!
  26. Softer skin

    Natasha

I really like this moisturiser - it really suits my dry skin. It is a light, white cream that absorbs fast and leaves my skin feeling lovely and soft with a subtle glow. I like that it contains botanicals and oils such as sweet almond oil, macadamia seed oil, evening primrose oil and sage oil - all which are great if your skin is dehydrated like mine. It smells nice too - mainly of lavender and is gentle on sensitive skin. All round great!
  27. Not suited to my skin type?

    Sara

Very very strong herbal fragrance, jar is not easy to use - hard to access product. Similar to another review here I had red bumps after using this and also thought may be the essential oils in the product that may have irritated the skin so I will not be using the cream anymore. Shame I have heard so many good things about the brand though.
  28. Disappointing

    Tina

I was quite excited to try this product as I've heard great things about Aesop and I got this as a little splurge... unfortunately I was disappointed. Whilst the scent is lovely, the texture is fine and the packing is very stylish, the cream itself was not at all hydrating for my combination skin. I've used cheaper products that are far more effective.
  29. Did not suit my skin

    Annie

Aesop products have been on one of my list to try and thought I would settle with their appealing Primrose Facial Hydrating Cream to try.
Comes in a glass jar beautifully packaged, unfortunately not the most ideal way to prevent ingredients from oxidising and for hygiene purposes as I do prefer airless pump packaging.
I have combination skin that is acne prone and prone to dehydration as well.
I was excited to try this moisturiser and at first it hydrated my skin but then I developed tiny red bumps on my forehead, nose and cheek area, I thought my skin was 'purging' so I let it pass and endured using the product for the next 2 weeks. My skin didn't improve, those red small bumps were still there and developed breakouts here and there which then I decided to stop the cream (nothing new was introduced to my skincare routine) and the next day the red bumps significantly settled.
It seems the product didn't suit my skin, it may be the essential oils in the product that may have irritated the skin so I will not be using the cream again unfortunately.
  30. Great

    Neesha

I use this cream when my skin is in need of a little extra hydration without feeling too heavy
  31. Beautiful texture and scent

    Funkychick

One of my favourites from Aesop. It smooths on beautifully and gets absorbed quickly without leaving any oily residue. I love the scent and was told that the product smells of whatever natural oils that are in it so there are no nasty artificial fragrance.
  32. Amazing Product

    Tess

As i have gotten into my 30's, I can now see myself just how tired and dry my skin is.
I am not one to spend money on these things, would rather buy some generic brand or something cheap from KMart, and have never had a morning/night routine at all.

I received this (along with some other items) in the mail on Friday and have used it morning and night for the 4th day now.
The changes in my skin could be felt immediately, and I noticed how soft my face still was when I woke up after the first night.

This is so thick and a little bit goes a long way.It is easily absorbed and smells divine! I was a bit funny about the price at first but can see how much of a difference this makes for me. Will be getting the larger 120ml size next time!
  33. Love this

    Monique

Creamy but not too heavy on my skin. Feels and smells amazing. Look forward to trying other products by Aesop.
  34. More proof you can't go wrong with Aesop

    Caz L

Beautiful hydrating cream. Absorbs quickly, smells beautiful, Aussie Brand and cruelty free. Ticks all the boxes.
  35. Love it!

    Jfishy

Recent convert to the Aesop range, but I love the idea of it being so nature-based. My skin's been really dry this winter (odd given I have combination skin usually) and this has been great - gentle, moisturising without being greasy, didn't cause any break outs. Will definitely be trying out more of this stuff!
  36. Fabulously nourishing for dry skin

    K

I love this cream - it enriches your skin with a beautiful fragrance and rich creamy texture, not greasy at all. I love to endorse Australian made and owned products that live up to their reputation
  37. like the brand

    Michelle

Used lots of products of Aesop, from face to body even pets, like them all.
