Cleansing is your first step in a great skin care routine, so choosing the right cleanser for your skin is essential.
Cleansers clear away make-up and pollution and they come in different types. Milk cleansers tend to be a safer option for dry and sensitive skin, whereas gel or foaming cleansers are a real hit with combination and oily skin types. Oil cleansers have become popular over the last couple of years due to their effectiveness in removing makeup and perspiration.

What do cleansers do?
Cleansers remove dead skin cells, oil and other surface impurities and work to prevent breakouts. So, they remove make up and ‘gunk’ as well as treating the skin! Cleansers come in different textures and each will aim to do something a little different, so it’s important to choose a cleanser to suit your own preference as well as your skin type.
What kinds of cleansers are there?
Pre-Cleansers:
usually come in an oil formulation. They are designed for all skin types (even oily and acne) and you use them before you cleanse with your regular cleanser. So, a Pre-Cleanser works hard to remove make-up and grime before you cleanse with your gel, cream or foaming cleanser.
Gel Cleansers:
are ideal for you if you have a normal, oily or sensitive-oily skin type. They are also great if you have dry skin but really dislike a creamy texture. Gel Cleansers don’t foam up but they leave your skin with a really clean and fresh sensation, without a ‘tight’ feeling.
Cream Cleansers:
are ideal for normal and dry skin types. They leave a dewy finish to the skin rather than a ‘squeaky-clean’ sensation. Cream Cleansers are also available for normal-to-oily skin types too, if you do prefer a creamy texture when you cleanse.
Foaming Cleansers:
are ideal for normal, problem and oily skin types. They remove make-up and deeply clean the skin, removing excess oil and leaving a ‘squeaky-clean’ feeling.
