A foundation primer should be your very first step when applying your makeup, even if you only use a sheer cover. Using a primer under your makeup helps to prepare the skin and provide an even surface, so that all your makeup will sit better, last longer and resist changing colour.

What is a primer?
A primer is a liquid or gel-based formula applied to skin before makeup to hydrate and smooth away any imperfections. Primers also help your foundation stay put and look and feel fresh all day. Different types of primer can also assist with managing different skin types.
What type of primer do I need?
Help! I’m oily/ I tend to get a bit shiny – Go for an oil-free or mattifying primer. This will help absorb the oil in your skin, so that your foundation sits comfortably on your skin all day and you remain shine free!
My skin feels dry/tight – Hydrating primers work wonders for dry skin. They instantly hydrate the skin and keep it moist and supple throughout the day, so your foundation looks flawless and never flaky .
I want to smooth out lines/wrinkles – Opt for a silicone based primer which has a slightly thicker consistency and basically fills in any lines and pores so your foundation has a smooth landing base.
My skin looks a little dull – opt for a hydrating or an illuminating primer which will instantly pick your skin up and leave it feeling fresh and dewy.
