This foundation is amazing. It gives really great coverage and doesn't look or feel like you have any makeup on at all. Great at covering up any redness or uneven skintone, and the concealer can be used along with the foundation to really give a great, even coverage.

Inika Mineral Make-up

Love this product! I have been using it for over a year now and it is fabulous for coverage. I am 58 years old and have fair sensitive skin and this product is so easy to use. I have tried 2 other brands of mineral make-up and this is the best. The texture is softer and it provides an illuminated finish. I also have the eye shadows, blush and lip pecil and they are all top quality.

I'm 51 and my skin is a little dry with a few broken capillaries, so I wanted coverage with a natural look. Unfortunately, when used as a powder this product makes my dry patches flake up, BUT Inika say you can mix their mineral powders with a little moisturiser to make a cream if you have dry skin (as long as the moisturiser isn't silicon-based). So, I mix a little bit with either my Clarins Gentle Day Cream or Invisible Zinc Environmental and - no more dry patches! I still need to moisturise first and then apply. You can still build coverage by adding a little more powder over spots, etc. I have also used their eyeliners (sublime), lipstick (great coverage and so moist), eyeshadows (truly gorgeous) and I'm looking forward to trying the blusher and eyebrown pencil. I like the packaging. It may be simple, but the jar is quality - not flimsy - and easy to get at the product. But, best of all - it's organic and no animal testing. Okay, I admit it - I'm a fan!

I am pretty much a mineral makeup junkie. This one was found in my hunt for a truly superior mineral makeup- not just natural, but with pure and organic ingredients, and without some of the cheap and nasty 'naturals' I have had brushes with along my way. (Bismuth and Isopropyl Myristate- you know who you are!:) This one is fab. I can't say it any other way. My fave mineral makeup for the finished visual effect and coverage to date was Laura Mercier- so this was what I was looking to top. The best part is, not only does it top it- but it doesn't feel or look thick, my skin feels naked:) I haven't had any transference with this product onto clothes or boyfriends cheek etc which is interesting, because I did with all the one's I had used previously. My shine (oily skinned gal) is minimal- I am blotting/buffing 2-3 times max all day, and even then it's not noticeable, just me being perfectionist. It does do the colour adjusting to a degree, which I have never had with a makeup before, so I am impressed with that. It won't leap shades, but will adjust within one I would say. Easy to apply, very long lasting. And also the first tear proof one- no white tracks down my cheeks! Maybe it's waterproof? Will find out in Summer. Medium coverage- you don't need concealer unless you have some heavy duty stuff to cover. So to be more specific- it covers, looks polished, but like it's your skin-but better! Usually I find 'full coverage' looks fake and unnatural, like a mask- you KNOW looking straight away there is a lot of makeup and that that's why it looks too perfect. It depends which effect you want. This is perfect "I hate that her" skin:) The packaging is uninspired and a little pricey for something that's Australian made-if they lowered it by $10 I'd feel that would be the right price. It's a little cheeky when you consider there's no importing OR nice packaging costs- the jar is AS basic as you can get. You get a good amount. I can see it lasting me 3-4 months, and I wear it everyday. Has a slight shimmer which buffs in and gives more of a faux glow effect which looks radiant. (and natural- not glittery) Love that it's organic- and no nano or micronised particles! Haven't tried their primer, but LOVE their eyeshadows. Absolutely recommend for oily skin gals, or combo or sensitive. Dry I can't give a proper opinion- but it is creamy, and while I was sick and my nose was dry it didn't emphasize it once I had put a light moisturizer on the area. The clincher was wearing this in China recently on a business trip- it was SO sweaty and humid- NO SHINE AT ALL! Even less then being back in Australia! Go figure!:)

My first time using mineral foundation and was interested in trying a more natural product. Because it is a powder it feels and looks a bit drier (my skin is dry) even with the inika primer, i also use my zinc sunscreen which is quite thick to get a good base to layer the foundation on. You can build coverage and it is very easy to use (apply like a powder). I'm not sure what other mineral formulations like but i imagine they are all a bit dry looking. My only concern is that I like the idea of mineral products but given they are natural I think they should be more affordable and I"m not sure how much they differ between each other (might be my ignorance). The starter kit is quite pricey to try it out, recommend a sample if you can get it in case you find it a bit dry. Overall good natural product if you like mineral/powder type foundation give it a try.
